I'M CURIOUS, DOES ANYONE EAT COLD CERAL FOR BREAKFAST? IF SO WHAT KIND? BEFORE I STARTED THIS WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY I WAS A COLD CEREAL JUNKIE. IT'S THE ONLY THINK I ATE FOR BREAKFAST EVERY DAY THAT I WASN'T WORKING, W/ THE EXCEPTION OF SUNDAYS WHEN I HAD THE "EXPECTED SUNDAY BREAKFAST" AFTER CHURCH AT THE PANCAKE HOUSE: EGGS, BACON, HASHBROWNS, PANCAKES, etc . . . . LORD, NOW I'VE MADE MYSELF HUNGERY THINKING ABOUT ALL THOSE THINGS I DON'T EAT ANYMORE. RIGHT NOW I CAN GO FOR SOME PANCAKES W/ SYRUP. TASTY, DON'T YOU THINK? DONNA, SFY

Donna, I have tried cold cereal (Cheerios) a couple of times and have had problems. I think I have become lactose intolerant since surgery. Not really sure if it was the milk or the cereal. You might want to try this recipe I copied and use SF syrup- they are quite tasty. Cottage Cheese Oatmeal Pancakes ¼ c oats ¼ c cottage cheese, FF ¼ c egg beaters (I used 1 egg) 2 T cinnamon/Splenda Sugar-free pancake syrup or preserves ? Mix all ingredients in a mini blender. ? Coat non-stick skillet with butter-flavored cooking spray and heat; spoon batter into hot skillet. Coo****il set and top bubbles, flip and coo****il lightly browned. ? Serve with zero calorie sf maple syrup, cinnamon/splenda, or sf jam if desired. The following nutritional data are based on my recipe with the ingredients listed. Serving = 1 (~6" diameter) Protein 16 gm Carbs 17 gm Fat 2 gm Ca 184 mg Calories 132

I also eat Special K Protein....I also put dried blueberies in it. It is pretty good. I have found that I can not eat eggs...they make me sick everytime and it only takes a few bits. I loved eggs before surgery but they don't like me anymore for some reason. I have tried the SF syrup and didn't like it. I bought the whole grain waffles and thought some SF syrup would be good for a change....nope!!! Hated it!!!! So I use the SF jams or jellies instead. Lisa S.

I used to eat a lot of cereal too - sometimes for dinner or snacks. Now, I sometimes eat Cheerios or K and sometimes they sit well and sometimes they don't, but have not made me sick, not in the last month anyhow. Lisa

Hi Donna! The only cold cereal my surgeon recommended was Cheerios. I've had them off and on - when I needed something different. So far, no problems. Oh, I haven't asked the NUT about cereals...maybe I should. Hope that helps. Susan

Hey Donna. I tried the Special K Protein, but didn't care for it too much. They reminded me of Raisin Bran Flakes, which I never cared for. When I was at my sisters last month I tried her Kashi Go Lean Crunch and LOVED IT!!! It is so tasty and crunchy and has a decent amount of protein. I went to Sam's Club and bought the twin pack, but will probably take me forever to eat at a 1/2 cup at a time. I want to check out the Kashi Waffles the next time I go to the grocery store. Saw them in the newspaper ads today and made my mouth water. Hope you find something you like. Hugs, Tabby

Hi Donna I have done Cheerios in my yogurt and just bought the Special K protein, too, and have had that with my yogurt, too! Special K is blah, but in the yogurt, it's good. I've had the Special K in a bowl w/milk, the normal way, and I just added some Splenda for sweetness, and it was good. Try pancakes with a scoop of protein powder in it!
