3 Month Check up
Well.....I am a week late, but I have been too busy at work to post.
I had my 3 month check up last Monday 1-29-07.
Both the NP and the nutritionist say that I am doing everything right. Eating the right foods in the right amounts.
I DO need to exersice more, but I am trying, and look forward to being able to go outside to walk. (The temp here today is below zero with such dangerous wind chills that all the schools in 3 counties are closed......)
I told them I thought that I was losing EXTREMELY slowly, and they both just said that it is because I started with less to lose.
I had a small scare when I told the NP about some horrible pains that I have had in my right side (4 "attacks" since a month out from surgery). She said it was probably my gall bladder needing to come out!
I had an extensive ultrasound on Thursday, and everything is NORMAL! SO.....no gallbladder surgery for me! I am releived!
She said that she did not know what it could be as everything looks good, but to have my pcp follow up if I continue to have problems.
I do not go bac****il April and they will draw labs then.
Have a great day!

How wonderful to have everything at your appointment go so good. I'm glad to hear you don't have to have surgery. Could it be a hernia? I am having the same problem and the doctor told me I was not allowed to do any exercise except cardio for another 4-6 months because he thinks I'm getting a hernia near my incision. If it continues they will do an ultrasound as well to rule out the gallbladder.
I just had my 4 month appt and was glad to have them finally do some blood work so I know where all my levels are. I'm waiting for the results which should be back this week.
Best of luck to you/
Susan
Glad to hear that everything went well with your appt and your doctor and NP think you are doing everything well. Slow and steady wins the race. You will get there. If you don't have as much to lose, it will come off slower. I am SOOOOO glad to hear that you do not have to have another surgery to remove your gall bladder. Glad that went OK for you. When was the last time you had an "attack"? Is it when you eat anything different? I hope they don't come back.
Take care,
Tabby
