Finally, 2 weeks after the emg, my doc just called me this morning. Turns out, I do indeed have carpal tunnel (she originally told me my symptoms were not those of ct!) and a pinch nerve by my elbow!! I have to go get something called a Futuro Splint ?? and wear that every night to bed, and whenever I'm doing a lot of writing or typing - ha, that's my life! Just don't understand why it chose to show up now, after 20 years, and while I was home on recovery, NOT WORKING!! Glad to finally have the results, as the numbness has not gone away at all.

I'm sorry to hear that it is CT. Although I don't understand why she said they symptoms were not those of CT. Didn't you say that you were having numbness in your ring and pinkie finger? That is classic CT. First thing that came to my mind when you were mentioning it. The splint should really help a lot. That helped me for a while, then the numbness was breaking through the splint and I had the CT release surgery last summer. I felt instant relief. I have not had any numbness since. Hope that splint does the trick and the discomfort goes away soon. I have no idea why it would show up now, when you were not working. Take Care. Hugs, Tabby

Michelle, Glad to hear that you found out what was wrong. As Tabby said, when you mentioned the numbness I figured Ct was the culprit. Now you can relax and get things straightened out. Have you tried a warm/hot compress on your hand(s)? Some times that helps reduce the swelling. The Futuro Splint look something like the splint you see professional bowlers wear. It's a little awkward at first but you'll get used to it. Good luck. Donna, sfy

I had carpal tunnel also. I hated the splints. I did find a glove that worked well for me. It slips over the hand and has beads at the wrist. It is easy to wear day or night and you can toss it in the washer. I finally had surgery as both of my hands were affected. So glad I did. Aime

Hope the splint works so that you get to feeling better!! I've never had CT, so I don't have much to say except that I hope you get to feeling better!! Holly
