I went today for a scope, to see if that's why I'm having so much problem getting food down. Sure enough, there was a stricture, the opening was very small. I've even eaten some seafood salad. Man, it went down perfectly!!! I'm in 7th heaven - I can eat more than cottage cheese and yogurt. Marie

Glad to hear that the scope went well and you are getting more down. I had a scope done last month and things seem to be going down better than before the scope and that is always nice. Deanne

Donna, Oh my God, even had chicken tonight! Sure did taste like heaven! He said the opening was only the size of his pinky finger. He wants to do it again in another month. I grilled the nurse, how will they keep me from gagging, will they make sure they give me enough sedative. When the dr. came, they told me to lay on my left side. So then I'm laying on my side, wondering where everyone went, wanting them to hurry up and get this over with, when I realized I wasn't even in the same room anymore! I was all done. Yes, that versed was wonderful. No sore throat, no nothing. Marie

glad to hear that you are doing will marie. sometimes i wonder if i have a "reverse stricture". i wonder if my stoma is too large. i don't have any problems getting anything down. i'm not really sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, if you know what i mean. have a great evening, patricia

I often wonder if that is what is wrong with me. I can never eat anything soild. The thickest thing I can keep down is some crackers and I dont have those often. My Doc told me that it was because I eat to fast, thats why it gets stuck. But he never did any tests on me? but i throw up my dinner almost every night. it gets stuck in between my boobs or a little lower. Is that what happened to you? But as for meat, no good.. I can have maybe 2 bites then it sits in the middle till I throw it up.. But I can eat a low fat ganola bar, no problems..?? Crackers and cheese no prob? I can also eat ground beef, like a taco, no prob.. Should I call my doc again? Luvs and Hugs, Tiff
