I have left a message for my Doc but wanted to know, as you were all sick early this month, what OTC meds you took to make you feel better. Are we only allowed to take certain kinds? Thanks for the help guys! Tiffany

I have been wondering the same thing but I might have to break down and head into the doctor office as one day I feel fine the next I am all sinusy (if that is a word) with a lot of drainage, just so I can get over whatever it is I have. (I am sure sinus infection again...normal for me all year round...ugh) I hope you can get some answers and relief. Get better soon. Hugs~~ Deanne

TIFFANY, I'M SO SORRY YOU'RE NOT FEELING WELL. THERE ARE SO MANY OTC MEDS YOU CAN TAKE DEPENDING ON YOUR SYMPTOMS. IF IT'S SINUS PROBLEMS THERE'S TYLENOL SINUS, WORKS GREAT. IF IT'S A COLD ROBITUSSIN MAKES A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT TYPES, EX: FOR COLD, HEAD CONGESTION, HEAD AND CHEST CONGESTION etc . . . . IF IT IS A COLD AND YOU'RE CONGESTED TRY GETTING SOMETHING W/ GUAIFENESIN IN IT. THIS HELPS W/ LOOSENING UP THE MUCUS IN THE CHEST, SOMETHING LIKE MUSENEX. FEEL BETTER SOON AND CALL YOUR PCP. Hi, Tiff. Sorry you are feeling so badly. I did a search at the top of the page on cold medicines and it came up with several options. Some were taking Tylenol Cold products and Comtrex and Sudafed. You need to stay away from ibuprofin, I believe. Also, there are diabetic or sugar free cough syrups and cough drops available. You may want to try the search yourself. Type in cold meds or cold medicine or whatever you want to do the search on. You know I recommend the Zicam nose swabs or nose gel spray. Works wonders. Hope you are feeling better soon!!! Hugs, Tabby

I used (and am still using at night) tylenol liquid cold. which ever formula seemed to fit my symptoms at the time. Cough supressant, decongestant, expectorant etc. It tastes terrible, but it has been doing the trick. (well, that and the anitbiotic I got when it turned into a sinus infection)

I swear by Zinc and Vitamin C. They do nothing to lesson the symptoms but I swear they make a cold go away quicker and if I get them in time, it will ward off a cold. Good luck and I hope that your cold goes away soon. Tara

I asked the nurse last week and she said it was ok to take medication. If the pills are too big she said to cut themin half. I have been taking benedryl at night for my congestion. I would still call and confirm though. Aime
