I have lost 56lbs so far and weigh 174 so I still have more to loose, but even at 174 I can wear a size 12 just puzzles me, but anyway. I keep getting alot of complements and now people are asking..."Why do you want to loose anymore weight you look great now? What happens if your body can't stop loosing once you reach your goal weight?" Anyone else getting these questions?

Oh boy...I haven't reached were someone has asked me why do you want to loose more weight but I have gotten what if you body doesn't stop loosing. Well, I was told that when you body gets to the ideal weight it will level out. You know I would love to have the worry about loosing to much then gaining to much. Hugs,

LOL I can honestly say that there are many many many many months before that will even begin to be a thought on my mind lol. But it would be nice to have to worry about maintaining or gaining for once instead of losing. *huggles* Felicia

This was just addressed on the main message board. The lady's doctor and nutritionist told her to stop loosing and they have her eating more and increasing her caloric intake. Of course there is a fear of gaining weight back, which I think is normal. I can only wait until I get to this point in time......Take care.....Gay

I am definately NOT close to the point where people ask me about stopping the loss, but I'm sure that once I get down to where you are, people will ask me the same thing. Especially my MIL. She has asked me about how to stop losing. I think she is concerned because the weight has (up until this point) been coming off pretty steady and she knows someone that did loose too much, but is now up to a healthy weight. I'm not concerned about it. I have also had people tell me that they couldn't believe that I even qualified for the surgery. HELLO...I weighted 282 when I had the surgery. How could I NOT qualify. Don't worry about what others say. They aren't the ones carrying around the extra weight and aren't the ones that made the change to take care of it. Congrats on the size 12, too!!! Hugs, Tabby

Hi Teresa! I've never had anyone ask me either of those questions before. But, before my surgery I did have one lady TRY to argue with me that I wasn't large enough to have the surgery. She got pretty quiet when I told her how much I weighed....and that ended her attempts to argue. NOT that it mattered. I was already committed to doing it and some strangers opinion didn't matter to me in the slightest. What kills me is that people feel the need to comment on our weight and/or loss in the first place. Now, I'm the first to appreciate a good compliment. But, to have the comments like "you don't look like you need to lose any more" or "what will you do if you can't stop losing" aren't constructive. Don't these people know we have physicians overseeing our journey and THEY will assist us with knowing when it's time to stop and HOW to stop? UGH....people get on my nerves!!! Sorry, couldn't stop myself from hopping up on my soapbox there for a minute. Have a good weekend!! Susan

I haven't had the question so to speak, but I did have one person tell me that they knew someone that couldn't stop loosing weight. I explained that it was an unusal situation and, in fact, the bodies metabolism regulates itself after about 18 months. It has kept her quiet since. As far as needing the surgery in the first place, that was certainly not a problem for me as I was well over 300 pounds. I also haven't been close to the point where I've been asked how much more I want to loose.
