... I am just Obese lol. Ok so I know 99% of you are lightweights and hit this milestone well right away but for me I had miles and miles to go lol. I started out at 427 lbs and that is beyond Super Morbid Obese. This past week I finally made it down to just Extremely Obese (295). And now I am only 56lbs till I am just plain ole Obese (239) lol. Guess for once in this silly journey of mine it doesn't seem like I will never make it up the hill to see the top. Now it seems like I have made it OVER the hill and am on my way down finally!! I still have my ups and downs lol just like everyone else does. But its an amazing feeling to finally see a small crack of light at the end of what has been a very dark tunnel. Thanks for reading! Oh and I lost -6lbs on my weigh in on Monday!! That put me down to 295!! *hugs* Felicia =) OK and I found this in a book and thought it was worth sharing. Not sure if OH will let me post it here but if they do its a great read if they dont oh well lol I tried.. Who, What and Where you are... This is an excerpt from the book Success Habits of Weight Loss Surgery patients. I thought it was worth posting here since I think its relates to everyone, not just WLS patients. Habit Number 1: Take responsibility for who, for what and for where you are right now and be honest with yourself. Tell yourself the truth. Failure to do so will prohibit you from reaching the potential that is within you. I believe that you are where you are right now because you have chosen to be so. Your life must be serving you in some way, or else you would have already made a change. Take a look at who you are, why you are, and where you are and take responsibility for how you arrived here. Let me illustrate this concept by relating a story about two battleships at sea. Visibility was very poor, and the lookout called back to the Capitan on the ship and said, "There is a light on the starboard bow". The Capitan asked, "Is it steady or moving stern?" The reply came back from the lookout, "Its steady". This meant they were on a dangerous collision course. And so the Capitan said,"Send a signal, send a signal that says, I command you to change your course twenty degrees!" The signal was sent and a reply came back, "You change your course twenty degrees." So the Capitan said, "Well send a signal that says, I am a Caption. Change your course twenty degrees." The signal was sent and the reply came back, " I am a seaman second class. You change course twenty degrees." Now the Capitan was getting more upset as he thought, "Its getting more and more dangerous." He said, "Send a signal, send a very strong signal that says, We are a battleship. Change your course twenty degrees!" The signal was sent and again a reply came back that simply said, " We are the lighthouse." How often in our lives when we feel there is a need for change do we wait for someone else to make it? Again we encourage you to take responsibility. Recognize that you, and you alone, must be accountable for your longterm success following your weight loss surgery. Personally I think this applies to everyone no matter what "plan" you are or are not on.

First off, Felicia...so glad to see you back on the board. It was kind of quiet without you. We enjoy (rather look forward to) your daily posts. Congrats on your 6 lb weight loss. That is sooooo awesome. And congrats on being that much closer to just being obese. I was looking at a BMI chart the other day and I wonder who came up with this thing??? It says for me to be average I have to weigh 124-159 lbs. My goal is 165 and at that I am STILL overweight. Oh, well, won't dwell on that until the time comes and I get down there. Perhaps I will want to go down to 159, just to say I am not overweight. Who knows. Also, thanks for sharing that story. So true. Hope you are doing well. Hugs, Tabby

Thanks Tabby! Been struggling with some stuff lately and well needless to say I just have decided to get over it lol. So here I am lol. Thanks so much about the weight loss. I hear you on the chart thing. AND different BMI thingies say different things lol. For example. The one on our home page has me at 49 but the one on our profiles has me at 49.1 *shrug* silly thing lol reminds me of a scale LOLOL. I hear ya... Mine has me at 127-141 OH WHATEVER! I would be a walking skeleton lol. I am shooting for 150. I would love to see 145 again just once though since that is what I graduated High School at lol. But frankly I will be happy to just get under 200 lbs !! As you say.. Who Knows lol things change so much at different weights ( mentally ) that what I say today maybe different tomorrow anyways lol *huggles* Felicia
