Does anyone here go to Curves since they had their surgery? I am thinking about joining and going on my lunch break during the week b/c the most I can ever squeeze in as far as exercise is a 20 minute Richard Simmons tape in the morning before getting me and 3 kids out the door by 6:30am. Any feedback on what you think of it would be great : ) Thank you for your time, Margo Marie

I went for 3 months religiously before surgery. After surgery, I had to wait 1 month to start back again. Once I was able, I went for 1 week, then I totally slacked off. I got out of the habit after surgery. And I felt I wasn't getting enough out of the workout. I wasn't sweating anymore. hmmph. I am thinking of joining a real gym, so I can have a better workout. Just my opinion. Molly

I did Curves off and on for several years prior to surgery. Towards the end it became not enough for me to get a good workout. I go to a local Y now - they have a "circut" as well. It is nautilus (sp?) equipment, you can adjust the weight on each piece and vary the amounts of sets you do, there is not time of rest between equipment, but you can build that in to your routine on your own if you want. I can get a full circut done in 30 min. Since it is the Y, on nights when I have time, I also have lots of options for cardio and classes. I'm taking water aerobics as many nights as I can fit it in as well. (though I must say - it's MUCH more expensive that Curves).

Hi Margo! I haven't gone to Curves, but one of my best friends did for a year after her surgery and she loved it. Susan

I've wondered about it, too. But I work midnight shift, so can't go on my lunch. I don't know when I can work it in my schedule. I can go Monday and Wednesday when the kids are at daycare, but don't know when to get in the other 1-2 workouts there for the week. I did it a few years ago. It was nice. A fun and fast workout. I liked it. Let us know what you decide. Hugs, Tabby

I go everyday except for Sunday when they are closed. I love it!!!!!! You made alot of friends and meet them after work to workout. Also if you feels it gets to easy all you have to do is double up. I work out for 1 hour instead of 30 minutes sometimes. If you go on their website they have a pass so you could try if out for free to see if you like it. Call you locally Curves and make an appointment to come in. What have you got to lose, but the weight!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!

I am a Curves success story. Kinda. I lost 43lbs with their diet program and workouts but then broke my ankle and regained 82lbs prompting me to opt fot the surgery. I still cant drive due to the ankle injury but the second I can I plan to go right back!!! The thing with Curves is that the workout is as hard as you make it. The harder you push yourself and the machines, the harder the workout will be. You get to tailor it to you...ease into it at first and then you can build up to more intensity. I say check it out, most Curves will offer a free trial period, go and see if you like it.
