My Weekend WOW's
Well, it started on Friday. I took the kids to lunch after picking Nate and a friend up from pre-school and they sat at a table by my mom's aunt. I spoke to her and said "Hello" and she said "Tabby, are you on a diet?" I told her I had WLS and she asked how it was going and said she can really see a difference. That made me feel great.
Friday night I saw a friend that I saw the Friday before New Years and she told me that she could see a difference in me from just two weeks ago. COOL!! While I was at here house and sitting on her couch hanging out and catching up, my boobs kept falling out of the bottom of my bra when I would change positions on the couch. I was thinking WTF???? Well, the next day when I was getting dressed, I thought I would try on the smaller bra I had stashed away and IT FIT!!! I have not gone down in bra sizes since...well maybe never. I was wearing at 46B after having my daughter and was wearing nursing bra's. When I stopped nursing her, I didn't buy any new bras because I knew I was having the surgery eventually and didn't want to waste money on them. So I kept wearing nursing bras for another 9 months until I had the surgery and I bought new bras. They were a 44B. Well, now I am in a 42B. I need to buy more 42B's next time I go shopping.
THEN...on Sunday I went shopping at Old Navy for ME!!! I have never shopped there for me. My SIL gave me a gift card last May for my birthday and another one for Christmas. NOTHING in the store has ever fit me. I held on to them knowing I would eventually be able to shop there for me. I refused to spend them on the kids. I tried on some jeans and guess what....the 18's fit me a little loose, but the 16's didn't button. I also picked up a couple of velour lounge outfits and cami's. I work from home and wanted comfy clothes to wear while working. The pants and cami's were XL's and the top was a 2XL (cut really small). BUT I was able to buy stuff for me and didn't even have to get the biggest sizes in the store. I'm so psyched!!! Can't wait to go shopping there again.
Those were my WOW moments this weekend. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!!!
Hugs,
Tabby
So happy about your WOW moments, keep up the great work! I had a laugh about the boobs falling out of the bottom of your bra...lol... I am a month out and have not had a wow moment yet, I still feel fat although I have lost 35 lbs. Can't wait until I have the WOW moments. Take care and be good to yourself!
Marie
Hi, Marie. Thank you for our support. Congrats on your loss to date. 35 lbs is pretty good for a month out. It won't be long before you start having WOW moments. I think mine started about 2 months out and just keep coming. I love it. It seems like when I get in all of my protein, water and exercise about 30 minutes a day, I lose more. When I don'****ch as well, I don't see a loss. I know what I gotta do, just gotta do it. Oh...and make sure you take pics of yourself every once in a while. I started taking pictures about every 2-3 weeks and can really see the difference. I am doing a scrapbook of your journey, so I have something to look back on to make sure I NEVER go back. And I also take my measurements every month around the day of my surgery date. Check out Fitday.com to track your food, weight and measurments. It's a great program several of us use. I have purchased the downloadable version, but you can use the free online one if you want.
Best wishes,
Tabby
