A wow moment

They just keep coming and coming. Despite fighting my first cold since surgery we did get a lot done this weekend. Part of our "to do" list took us to the store where our Philadelphia Eagles stuff is sold (we were looking for pink Eagles ties for the men to wear in the wedding - odd I know). Once we got there we discovered that they did not make the pink ties this year. So, I had money set aside for such a purchase and since we weren't going to be getting those ties, I finally broke down and bought my David Akers (sigh) jersey. We went to the rack and I, without thinking, reached for a 2x. Before I even got a chance to try it on, the boy just looked at me and shook his head. Oh yeah, I thought....put it back and reached for an xl. I slipped it on and watched it effortlessly slide past my hips and hang loosely. Hmmmm, the boy said "um, maybe you shoudl try a large." I replied "I can't possibly fit in a large" but, to humor him....I tried on a large. It FIT! The look on the boys face was priceless. He was so proud of me. He declared that I needed to buy the large. He also declared that it will be HUGE on me by next season. Oh well it was so exciting to by that shirt in a size smaller than I wore in high school! On the downside - I wore that jersey to watch the game, and they lost I was hoping to be able to wear it through to the Super Bowl this year.

Patricia, Congrats on the WOWs!!! That's great that you were able to fit into a large. Just think how huge it's going to be on you next year!!! Sorry they didn't have the ties you wanted for the wedding. Bummer. And, really sorry your team lost. We were cheering for them here too. Told my hubby it was necessary. Susan

Patricia, That's a great WOW moment!!! I think this part of the journey is fun. It's like discovering things for the first time all over again! I too, still go to the larger sizes until someone reminds me that I don't need to be there anymore. Congrats on your progress Allison

Patricia, Great WOW moment!! It is always amazing when you think that you can fit into something and then to your surprise it is very big on you. I am still a larger size shopper out of habit as well that might be the hard part to retrain ourselves to shop in the smaller sizes but look out when we figure it out. Congrats on your WOW moment!! That is an awesome WOW moment!!! Congrats on the LARGE!!! Sorry that they didn't have the ties you wanted for the wedding and sorry to hear that the Eagles lost. We were wanting them to win, too. Since the Steelers sucked this season, we wanted one of the PA teams to go to the Superbowl. There's always next year...for the fans, atleast. And think of how big that shirt is going to be. Let's keep those wow moments coming. Hugs, Tabby
