I did it; I actually went to the gym and got in the pool I never thought I would actually get the nerve, but I put on a pair of shorts and a tank top and went in... once I was in, I was loving it so much, I didn't care anymore about the fact that there were other people around; and you know what, I don't even think they were paying attention to me! Now I can't wait to go back in! My cousin and I are doing water aerobics today; I did an hour and a half water aerobic excercise program and feel great; if it weren't for her, I'd have never gotten the gutts to go in, but I am so glad I did, because it is an enjoyable workout that even I can do. This was another WOW moment, of sorts, for me!!

Congratulations on taking the plunge, Michelle! i searched high and low in cape town and found a suitable gym that had a pool which was not so open to the other gym users ... but now that i have been there a few times i notice there are fatter people than me (how rare!) and they are using the open length pools which is more in the public eye, so soon i will be joining them. i find that it is easier joining the aqua classes, as all the muscles get attention. and the instructor holds you accountable. if i swim alone, i feel that i can slack down anytime. i need to feel the 'burn.' last week a most embarrassing thing happened, the aqua calss was so hectic ... i noticed the instructor looking at me surreptitiously ... i look down to notice that my one boobie had almost popped out!!! Good job, Michelle! I spent so many years avoiding the water, even though I've always loved it, because I didn't want to go without looking good in a bathing suit. Now, I also put on shorts and a tank top (for now) and enjoy the water again. It's heaven, isn't it? Lisa
