My area Y is VERY expensive, so much so that I never dreamed I could join. It has 3 seperate facilities in the area, and when you join you are allowed to use all three, it's something like $67 a month. I got the membership as a gift of support from my parents. It's only for 1 year. For the membership I have access to all 3, which all have circut rooms and wellness centers w/ new equipment. There are classes at all three as well. Most classes are free, except for aquatic classes, which cost $30 per 10 week session (above membership costs). It's totally worth it. I know most Y's do not cost nearly as much, but I think the hours are more convienent that most gyms.
