HOW TO SPICE UP A PROTEIN SHAKE...YUMMY!!!
I had the hardest time finding a protein shake that I could choke down, now I look forward to having one for breakfast. It is like a treat.
Here's what I do, in case anyone is interested.
I start by freezing skim milk in ice cube trays. Each cube is 1 oz of milk. Take them out of the trays and store in ziplock freezer bags after they freeze or else they get some kind of crusty stuff on top.
I use the Vitamin World Vanilla Flavored Whey. I didn't really like the taste of it at first and almost returned it, but now I will use it all.
I purchased some DaVinci's SF Syrups (Amaretto, Khalua and Irish Cream) I got them at Marshall's of all places.
Then I purchased some SF French Vanilla Coffee Creamer - Coffeemate or whatever.
I put 8 oz of skim milk in my bullet, one scoop of Whey, 2 tsp of DaVinci SF Syrup (Amaretto is my favorite right now), then 2 tsp of SF French Vanilla Coffee Creamer. I blend that and then drop in 4 of the frozen skim milk cubes. Blend that and drink up. YUMMY!!!!
I want to get the other flavors of syrups I saw (Chocolate and Caramel) and maybe even get some of the SF Hazelnut Creamer and try some different blends. You don't want to put much more than 2 tsp of the syrups or creamers or else it gets really sweet tasting.
Give it a try. You might look forward to your protein drink each day, too.
Have a good one!!!

I hadn't thought of freezing milk into cubes! Thanks. Right now I use frozen bannana chunks.
I have found that using chocolate no sugar added carnation instant breakfast as a base powder works really well. I use that, w/ skim milk, maybe a few bannana chunks then get creative w/ those splenda coffee flavoring packets (I like the mocha the best). That turns out a tasty shake.
If I know I am going to need extra protein for the day I add a few scoops of carb advantage powder - vanilla flavor into the concotion.
I love the s/f CIB. But, I make hot chocolate out of it.
I warm my fat free milk in the microwave, then add a touch of vanilla and a sprinkle of cinnamon when I stir in the CIB. It's very yummy! If I need a boost on my protein I can add in some protein powder....but this is my end of the day "treat" and is usually extra protein and calcium for me.
