My monthly stats
3 months out...I've lost:
70 pounds
64.25 inches from all over
13.6 points from my BMI
No diabetes meds. Blood sugar perfect.
Coming off asthma meds.
No more anxiety meds.
Less sciatic pain.
No leg cramps since pre-surgery.
Gym 2-4 times weekly; 20-30+ minute walks when not able to make the gym. Re-learning to swim. Aquacise 2x weekly. Weight machines, 2 sets of each. Exercycle, working on ten minutes, as lower back permits. Just starting to learn fencing.
Biggest food challenge: no appetite and not eating all day, then being very hungry in the evening and wanting too much/the wrong stuff. I can't eat like I did pre-surgery, but this was a problem then and still is. I am forcing myself to eat a protein bar at the moment, trying to overcome this. Last night, I ate too much and didn't get sick and it scared the hell out of me
Generally...I haven't been at my current weight in about 13 years...I haven't felt this good physically since before that...I haven't felt this hopeful about the future since my teens...it's good to be alive
Lisa
LISA...You are doing so great!!! Congrats on the weight and inches lost and the gaining back of your life. DAMN...You are active. You are doing so much. I wish I were doing 1/2 of what you are. Congrats on that.
Best wishes on the food challenge. I asked my nurse last week about stretching my pouch and she said that it won't stretch, but you stomach will start to tell you head that it needs more food to make it satisfied. Eating too much once is not going to do you any damage. I went out last week and had a taco salad at Bob Evans and ate about 1/2 of it (minus the tortilla chips and cornbread wedges) and my best friend told me that she was suprised with how much I ate and how long I ate. It took me while she and my husband ate their entire meals plus ordered dessert and ate that, for me to eat 1/2 a salad. I didn't think that was too bad. My nurse also told me that lettuce shrinks down to nothing when you chew it, so you could eat lots of it and it equals practically nothing.
Keep some high protein snacks on hand for the evenings. I just got some soy crisps. Tastes like little mini rice cakes, but I actually like them better. And they have protein in them. YAY!!!
Congrats on everything.
Hugs,
Tabby

patricia
Way to go Lisa!!! I have to do a little for you, Lisa!!! I am having a ton of energy that I haven't had in probably 15 years or so!! I agree with the no appetite and reminding myself to eat. I am also hitting the gym about 5x a week, doing weight machines 3 rounds on 10 different machines and then hitting the treadmill and stationary bike. I have finally gotten my son into down so we go after he gets out of school. That makes me more accountable for going. Learning Fencing? How kewl is that!!! I would love to find something different to do...
Congrads on the losses you are doing wonderful!!!
Hugs,
