Burnt Sprouts Recipe
Ok I don't remember where I originally saw this as I have been cooking it from memory for a while so I also don't know the values on it but here it is...
Burnt Brussels Sprouts
1 1 lb bag of frozen Brussels Sprouts
1 tablespoon ish ( or what ever you want ) of butter ( YES BUTTER )
2 tablespoons ish of olive oil ( ok so I never measure this I just glug a bit in lol )
1 teaspoon ish dried lemon peel ( you can use fresh but I always have the dried) OPTIONAL
salt to taste
1. Microwave the Brussels Sprouts for a couple minutes till thawed enough to cut. (Dont forget to cut the bag open a bit or BOOM it will explode!) Cut all sprouts in half. Throw in hot fry pan ( skillet whatever you call it) with butter and olive oil. I usually try and get all the cut sides down....
2. DONT MOVE THEM! Just let them go till that side is dark brown ( first time I did this I thought OMG I BURNT THEM but they were fantastic!). When that side is dark brown ( not burnt its just a title name ok). Give them a shake and stir to get them flipped over. LIGHTLY brown the second side. ( or dark brown it if you want lol ). When you flip them throw in your lemon peel and your salt at the last minute.
3. They should be crunchy at least on one side ( I do one side dark - one side light ) when they are done. Plop on a plate ( or on your serving plates - if I put them in a bowl they never make it to dinner as we just snack on them lol ) and eat.
My husband would NOT TOUCH brussels sprouts till I made these. They are so yummy. It was one of the first veggies I didn't see him slather with sauce lmaooo
WARNING: If you are prone to gas I recommend using liquid beano with these. I just put a drop per half and down they went.
This is also an AWESOME way to eat broccoli!

I love brussels sprouts.. I use to cook them and put Mayo all over them.. LOL. Sounds gross but I was the mayo queen!! Not anymore!!! I am totally going to make this tonight. I havent had them since surgery.. Thanks Felicia!!

GIRL! I soooooooooooooo hear you on the afro thing lol. Mine is naturally out of control I mean curly to. I swear I wake up in the morning and its 6 inches shorter lmaoooo
I used to eat my broccoli slathered in mayo lol. My fav way of eatting sprouts is steamed with balsamic vinegar YUM!

OK too funny I will learn to read all the way through...before I read all the way through I warned Tiff to get beano just like you warned me earlier....LOL too funny!
I think i will make these tonight with my parm crusted chicken!!! YAY!!!! What a great combo...oh and I just might add a little parm to the sprouts too! YAY!!!
