These rock. My son simply loves these!! They are super mild but SO much flavor. Easy to make and reheat awesome. I make them with a side of "burnt" Brussels sprouts YUM!! Parmesan Patties 1 2-ounce wedge Parmesan Cheese ( by the good stuff its worth it ) 1 pound ground pork 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt ( I do not use this. I just use real garlic and kosher salt) 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed 1 large Roma tomato, very thinly sliced 2 tablespoons shredded fresh basil 1. With a vegetable peeler, shave about half of the Parmesan into thin strips; set aside. Finely shred remaining Parmesan ( should have about 1/4 cup left). 2. In a large bowl combine ground pork, finely shredded Parmesan, pepper, garlic salt and oregano. Form mixture into four 3/4 inch thick patties. 3. Preheat broiler. Place patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat for 12 to 14 minutes or until done and juices run clear. Turning half way through cooking. Top each patty with tomato slices and strips of Parmesan. Broil 1 minute more. Top patties with Basil. Prep: 20 min Broil: 13 mins Makes: 4 servings 199 calories 12 g fat ( 6 gram sat fat) 63 mg chol 404 mg sodium 2 g carbs 0 g fiber 20 g protein My Twist: Ok I made huge changes to this one lol. All the same ingredients except I use real garlic and kosher salt instead of that nasty garlic salt. I do not top my patties with the basil, tomatoes and Parm cheese I actually chop it all up and put it IN the patties. Then I cook them on the stove top in a fry pay. I also double this recipe and make them into 1 inch patties (I use a 1 inch ice cream scoop thingie to measure this out but its about a tablespoon ish ) for a bite sized patty instead of breaking it up into 4 larger patties. SO YUMMY! SO again I just throw all the ingredients into a bowl. Mix, make patties and cook on the stove top. Also A great addition to this is roasted red peppers. Great flavor. Low in carbs. YUM!! I make these and then put this with my "burnt" Brussels sprouts. Cant beat it. Enjoy!! *huggles* Felicia
