New Year's Resolutions 2007
2007 is going to be "MY" year. The last 6 years have been filled with gloom and doom with a bright shinning moment being my son. The rest is horrid history and I am glad its about over.
SO with that my New Year's Resolutions go something like this:
1. Be a better mom to my son.
2. Be a better wife to my husband.
3. Show more affection to son and husband.
4. Have more tolerance for people in general.
5. Find out who I am since its been so long that I don't remember.
6. To not say "I don't want to go" because I am emotionally to embarrassed to go instead of that I don't really want to go.
7. To not say "I am to tired maybe later" unless I REALLY AM to tired.
8. To bite my tongue with the Homeschool group over religion and just see if we can find a way to fit in.
9. To help husband be as successful with his weight loss as I will be with mine.
10. To get some wiggle in this giggle by working out with some type of exercise.
11. To listen more and talk less.
12. To actually FINISH ONE SINGLE ALBUM lol.
13. To spend more time with my son watching clouds go by and less time clicking through computer screens.
14. To organize ALL 3000 ( or so ) discs of photos.
15. TO LOSE WEIGHT!
OK I can go on and on cuz I plan to get a lot done in 2007 but lol this is the basics of it. I actually have made up a list and put it in the to do binder. Every day I will be looking at it in hopes of checking another one off the list.

mine this year will be the same as always, but hopefully my weight loss will enable me to keep more of them.
1. to keep losing weight
2. to keep going to the gym... at the very least 2x per week, and hopefully 3x.
3. to cook more, and provide more nutritious alternatives for my son and husband.
4. to finally fill out the paperwork that needs to be filled out for my ssi disability.
5. to "accomplish" something each and everyday, no matter how small the feat.
6. to go back to my art classes.
7. to be less critical of my husband and children.
8. to go out more with friends.
9. to learn to play golf in the spring.
10. to find "me" again, and become more passionate about everything in my life.
My #1 resolution for 2007 is to finish a novel I am writing. I've procrastinated in completing this for far too long and I want it ready to go by this time next year.
Also...
...ride a bicycle again (and ride it often)
...be at the gym at least four times each week
...put all of the mundane things in my life (papers, chores, etc.) into an organized structure so that I can focus more more time and energy on what really matters
..."Walk for Diabetes"
...put more effort into building closer relationships
...live fully and not waste a minute

Thanks, Felicia! I hope 2007 is a special and joyful year for you and that all your dreams come true as well.
This is actually a second novel, though the first has not yet been published. Finding an agent or publisher should be on my resolutions list too! I guess they could both be called historical novels, though I see them more as contemporary stories set in other time periods.
The first ("More Glorious the Triumph") was completed over two years while I was living in Ireland and I always call it a "redemption tale." It's a sort of family saga set in 18th century Ireland, France, and America.
The one I am working on now ("A Dance of Angels") is a coming-of-age story about three female friends traveling from Pittsburgh to Atlantic City after the death of another friend in the summer of 1924.
I'd been writing a lot and then suddenly stopped. For a few years, I couldn't find any words, any ideas. It was scary, as I've been writing since I learned to read. Finally, I went back and dug out the last thing I'd been working on and I saw that the last time I'd written was the evening of Sept. 10, 2001. Wow. I hadn't realized that. Anyhow, I'm writing again, thank Goddess!
