Okay...I've been reading about everyone eating avocados...and decided to give it a try. Let me just say....YUM-O!!! It was delish! I mashed it up, spritzed some lemon juice over it and spooned in a couple of spoons full of salsa and had a feast tonight. I haven't been this brave in a while trying something...and am I ever glad I tried it! I have found my new snack food for those nights when I just have to have something. I'm thinking on New Years Eve while the kids and hubby are being pigs, I can have this with a few wheat crackers or some multigrain tostitos and feel like I'm doing something good for myself...as well as it being soooooo tasty. Thanks to you guys for giving me the courage to try this one!! I never would've if you guys hadn't had it first and said it was good and easy on the pouch. Hugs to everyone!! Susan

YAY!! I am so in love with it. Bought 4 of them the other day at the food store. I am soooo glad you decided to try it. It is smooth and creamy and rich but not righ on the tummy. It really does make you feel like you are having a treat! I love it with a few grapes tomato cut up very small and a little garlic powder, coarse sea salt and pepper. YUMO!!!! I hope you enjoy your new treat as it enjoys your pouch! Have a wonderful new year! Melissa

Thanks Melissa. I like to make it with tomatoes, etc too, but didn't have any last night so I used salsa instead. Worked really well and without all the chopping. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Susan

My cousin from California loves to make Guacamole. Is there any protein in avacados? I should get her recipe and maybe make some myself for Christmas evening or New Years. I have tried some here and there, and didn't hate it. Glad that you bit the bullet and tried something new and now have a new snack the you love. Sometimes it pays to be brave and experiment. Happy Holidays, Tabby

Hi Tabby, Yes, avocado has protein, but not a lot. However, if you've already gotten in your protein for the day, it's a nice treat. I highly recommend getting a good recipe - or do what I did and just mash up the avocado and put in a couple spoons of salsa and a splash of lemon juice and salt. It's quite tasty! Susan

I have never done the Avocado thing and I am a little slow in the kitchen. Do you cook it or just ma**** I love guacamoli (sp?) So I think that I might like this idea. We are always looking for something new. According to Fit day ~ 1cup eguals 2.89 of protein. Tara

Hi Tara! For the avocado, you cut it in half, pop out the seed and use a spoon to scoop out the meat. Then, just ma**** up and add in whatever you like for guacamole. I used salsa, a splash of lemon juice and salt for mine because that's what I had on hand. Enjoy!! Susan

Avocados were one of the first "solid" foods I ate. YUM! They went with refried beans just perfectly lolol I like mine only slightly mashed so it still has larger chunks in it, with lots of lemon, a bit of lemon zest, grey salt, garlic and a touch of red onion and if I am the only one eating them I like to also put in seeded roma tomatoes chopped up. YUM! *huggles* Felicia

I like to add a spoon of sour cream and a bit of salsa and salt and pepper and wow makes a great spread for crackers or even bread. Fresh tomatoes and onions and garlic are good too, but the salsa does the trick. I like the way the sour cream enriches the flavor. But, I can eat avocadoes just sliced up. They are definitely pouch friendly.
