I was SUCH a P I G !!!!!!!
I just can NOT get over the change in the amount off food that I am eating.
Today during my daily herb water change noticed that I still have a TON of things in my frig that pre surgery would have only lasted a day or two.
-- 1 almost WHOLE stick of wonderful salami ( now cut into 4ths and food savered in hopes it will last longer)
-- 3/4 of a pound of beautiful prosciutti ( now divided into 4ths and food savered in hopes it will last longer )
-- 2 unopened and 1 half bag of frozen precooked shrimp ( luckily frozen so it should last just fine)
-- 1 of a pound of pepperoni slices ( now divided into 3rds and food savered in hopes it will last longer)
Whats so strange in these things??? Pre surgery NONE Of the above would have lasted a weekend. And I don't mean separately I mean if I had all these things in the house they would be GONE in at little as two days!!!!! Yes the guys would help me eat the meats a bit but when I am really honest the fact is that "I" would have eaten the bulk of them.
Other things I noticed in the kitchen zone...
-- There are 2 bags of Frito's STILL on the shelf from a shopping trip well over 2 weeks ago ( better check the dates on those, will probably have to toss them.)
-- There is a tub of sugar free candy and cookies still almost WHOLE from a shopping trip over a week ago. ( they were good so its not cuz they tasted bad lol)
-- There is food in my freezer. I never liked to cook out of the freezer. Why bother freezing it, its not going to last long anyways. Now I have everything divided up into family portions or if its just for me single portions and its all food savered and neatly frozen and put away.
-- I am actually USING the food saver machine that I bought years ago in hopes of saving money but never used it so no money saved lol.
Anyways its just amazing the changes. The best part is not only the changes in my eating and buying habits but that its rubbed off on my family. Dale eats smaller portions with out even thinking about it now. He doesn't raid the frig late at night for snacks. He has slowed his eating down a LOT! ( one of my pet peeves about how he eats I mean IN HALES food). Joshua has great fun helping me divide up his treats into single serve baggies. He is no longer snacking through the day unless he is actually HUNGRY for something. He is LOVING all the veggies he is getting in his meals. And he is eating size correct portions instead of the huge portions I was feeding him before ( bad mommy). He is even taking control of taking his OWN vitamins in the morning. "Cuz Momma has to take hers so I have to take mine".
Again life is good.

I totally hear ya. I had an eye opener today at work. She had play ground at her house which means TONS of yummy food. Well normally I would have been thrilled with all the left overs. Bagels and cream cheese. Choc chip muffins and so on. BUT today I ended up just putting it all away in the fridge for her and went and ate my cottage cheese and avacado I had brought. What a difference. Plus anyone who comes to our house now I have to but food for if they are going to eat here becuase we do not have stuff and or enough to really feed but just us and on our WLS scale.
WOW life changes a lot and it becomes more and more apparent every day!
Hugs,
melissa
WOW we must be the only 2 people that eat less now lmaooooo
Isn't it just amazing how much the food habits have change. I still cant get over how much food is LEFT in my house SAFE from me lolol.
Avocado and Cottage Cheese? Now I HAVE to try that. YUM!!!!!
*hugs*
Thanks so much for the reply!!
Felicia =)
You're not the only ones. I honestly find that I have leftovers all the time now and end up throwing alot away. I LOVED leftovers. Now I have a bunch of smaller containers holding my OWN leftovers. We definately are all changing our eating habits (hubby, daughter, & myself)
It's odd, but when you only eat 6-8 tsp, 3 times a day, that's not alot of food needed
