Surgery Oct. 4, 2006..
I think this is great to speak to people who have had the surgery around the same time as I have. I overlooked this several times..glad to find you guys. I am a little over 2 months and finding food going down a little easier but not much of a appetite. Find things boring most of the time. I have no energy for anything and hoping that gets better. Just would like to see how everyone is doing.
welcome angela,
you will enjoy this october board... there are a great bunch of people here. i had surgery two weeks after you, and i think i am a slow loser. i need to stop weighing every time i walk into the bathroom!! check out everyone's profiles for information, and again, welcome.
best regards,
patricia
Welcome. This is a great board. It is so nice to be able to talk to people who are at about the same stage. I hear ya on the eating thing. I usually have to go with the moment of what might sound good. I do all the cooking in the house so it makes it a bt easier. Today feast was smashed up avacado over cottage cheese.. YUMO! Of course seasoned and all but it was like heaven.
Who knew something so simple!
Keep up the great work and again welcome!
Melissa
Welcome, Angela. Glad you found us. It is great to talk to people that are at the same stage as you. I, too, am not hungry...most of the time. I hate to try to think of something for the family to eat because I just need to eat protein and don't want to make a big meal for the family most of the time. I will have to get better at that. With my husband working late so much lately, I give them chicken nuggets and tater tots a good bit or mac and cheese. They love it and it is less cooking for me. I just heat up some chili or a piece of fish and I'm good to go.
Hope to see you around here more often. Don't be a stranger.

Hi Angela!
I had surgery on Oct 6th, and I'm finally starting to feel fantastic!
I'm not really having much problems with food or water anymore which helps, but I am also up to all the nutritional supplements that my surgeon recommends. B12 made a world of difference for me...
I get really bored with my food too...I think I've only felt true hunger 2 or 3 times since surgery. I will eat something and it tastes so good to me...and the next day I cant bear the thought of it...
Oh well...I wouldn't trade my weight loss for anything right now!
Good Luck!
Heather
Hello and Welcome to the board!
Great to have you here and posting!! Sorry to hear about your energy level. Have you spoke to your surgeon about that? I was tired for the longest time but when they upped my B12 and I added Iron I feel great! But it did take me weeks ( was about week 5 or 6 ) till I was feeling better.
Hope to see you on the boards often!

Hi Angela,
I had RNY on 10/4 too! I am at a period where I have a lot of energy and get fidgetty during the day if I don't get some kind of exercise in. Are you exercising, getting at least 70 grams of protein, taking all of your vitamins, and 64 oz of water each day? I think that may help with your fatigue. You should have your doctor check your labs to see if you are deficient in any nutrients.
I hope you feel better soon!
