OT : Flybabies ?
YES!!!!! I LOVE FLYLady!!!!!
I don't always follow her program to the letter, but I can hear her voice telling me "where are your shoes?" when I am trying to clean and just can't. Usually, I don't have them on. Put them on...and suddenly things are clean again. LOL
And, I can't leave the kitchen a mess overnight either...I have been known to get up and clean it before going back to bed so I can get up to a shiny sink and clean kitchen the next morning when I NEED a clean kitchen to cook breakfast for the family.
Like her, I make up the bed as soon as I get out of it so it's always nice looking in my room...and I TRY to swish and swipe my bathroom daily. The boys bathroom is another story though. Hee hee.....THEY have to clean it.
When I need to clean the house and need the kids help, we use the timer. They love doing it that way because they know they are going to get a break. We set it for 15 minutes, I give them a zone to work in...and they work hard till the timer goes off....then we set it again and "play" for 15 minutes. Only rule is they can't make a mess playing. But, hey, game boys aren't messy. Then it's back to work. Usually with all of us working, the house is cleaned in no time flat.
Soon, I need to start doing her "realtor" thing as we are going to be moving next summer and putting the house on the market in early Spring. I have a lot to take care of between now and then. Lots more decluttering to do. I have a couple of closets that are quite messy. Not something I want potential buyers to look at as they would think "Doesn't this place have any storage??" It does. Only problem is my hubby won't use the attic!! So, everything is either in the garage or in the closets. Hence, the massive decluttering that will soon happen at my house. Goodwill better get ready!!!
Sorry to go on and on, but I love FLYLady and her concepts. I get her e-mails every day. Most days I don't have time to read them as I am on this website...but I do love her reminders. It really does make a difference to just read the subject line and remember that I've got a load of laundry that needs to be folded and put away, etc.

OMGO****s my long lost twin!!!!!!! LMAOOOO You sound JUST LIKE ME!!!
Except I can't stand her email thingie but I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE her books. Sink Reflections is my homemaker bible lololol. My copy is so worn out its sad!!! And her Body Clutter book, well I cried lol. Its not as good as her Sink Reflections book but I really liked it lol.
I wish I could say we had storage lol but we cant even use the attic if we wanted to!! Oh well I can honestly say I do NOT have ANY clutter *grin*. But when I started it in 2003 OMG There wasn't a bare spot in my house. And yes I can completely pick up the house for guest in under 10 mins flat! roflmaoooo
OH MAN YES! I cant leave the sink dirty either!! Although I do air dry my dishes and I do not put the dirty ones under the sink lol. Everything by the end of the day is dry and put away. OH and don't forget the fresh towels *GRIN*.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww a kindred spirit! LOLOL
To funny!

Oh wow....Totally clutter free? How wonderful!! And, yes, I think you are right....we are long lost twins.
I WAS there.....and then I started working.....and over 3.5 years it cluttered back up. Mostly in the closets as I can't stand a dirty house. Now that I've quit my job, I'm working on the closets. Spent most of today helping the kids clean their rooms and rearrange. We got rid of three large bags of obvious trash, 2 big bags of clothes and a box or two of toys and videos to give to charity. Now I need to get to work in the little boys room and go thru their toys. I'm sure I can come up with at least 3 more bags of trash, not to mention toys to donate. Then it's off to my room to declutter the closets and drawers...then the hallway closet. THEN I'll be ready for the potential buyers to come look inside them. Of course, I still have to work on the kitchen cabinets and the ones in the laundry room, but those are mostly in need of reorganization. I've kept them pared down and decluttered. It's just that the kids have NO CLUE on how to put things away properly.
I have to say though that I can have the house looking good for guests in about 10 minutes too. Most of it spent in the boys bathroom, making sure it's decent and smells good. The rest of the house is usually picked up - where guests would see anyway...and most people are forgiving about children's bed rooms. Thank goodness!!

I am a flybaby...well, I'm trying to be one. I started flying in August and did GREAT in September. I was shining my sink, swishing and swiping daily, doing a load of laundry a day, making my bed daily and doing my 15 minutes of decluttering a day in the current zones AND doing Kelly's missions. THEN came the surgery. I got so focused on the surgery that I stopped flying.
Yesterday I started flying again. I hope to get back in the full swing of things soon. I really felt so good about myself when I was flying and my husband loved it. Wish me luck.
I envy you for being clutter free. I have so much clutter. I really need to stick to it. I need to learn to let go of things. I know I can do this again.
It took me over 9 months to completely declutter my whole house lol so no worries there is not a time frame for when it 'has to be done' . What helped me was I had a to do list to do every day. For me it was very detailed when I started but as it became more and more of a habit the list got smaller that I referred back to lol. It helps though.
My husband and son are flybabies and they don't even know it. It rubs off on the family with out you having to tell them to do a single thing. My son actually picks up after ME now roflmaoo and hes 6!! I never have to tell him to clean up his room or brush his teeth or anything like that. He is now in his own fly routine. I rarely have to remind hubby to take the garbage out or pick up his dishes or to put his dirty clothes away. Its great!!
You can do it! Baby steps at a time!!

Ok, I've never heard of flybabies, but after reading your responses, I think I need to learn. Is it advice to keep your house clean/decluttered? I'm going to search online and see if I can figure out and if so, get started asap!!! Me and my son are in desperate need of help!!! I'm the world's worst pack rat!!
Its basically a step by step guide to taking control of your environment. Which in turn rubs into your "self environment". http://flylady.net Again I recommend her book over her email group. Join the email group but don't give up cuz you get hammered with tons of emails. Just try the book. You can get it at the library or on amazon or her site. It doesn't matter if you work or not. You get taught how to make it work with your life style. Its really awesome.
I can simply say : It Changed My Life.
