Bad Day

It's one of those "I need to vent" days. Thank goodness for message boards! I hate drinking water water water. So, I mix 1/2 water and 1/2 tropicanna sugar free Orange Drink (orangeaide?****ep a 2 liter bottle of the stuff at work. This morning, I discovered that someone had consumed 1/2 my bottle between yesterday afternoon and this morning. Ok, annoying, but after all, I didn't have my name on it. But still - we give them all free soda - why do they need my not so great tasting sugar free stuff??? I grabbed a bottle of water from my car and had that instead. At lunch time today, I stopped at the grocery store to grab some more orange drink. By the time I got back, my alloted hour was up, and I still hadn't eaten. No problem. I had some shrimp in the fridge leftovers from lunch w/ coworkers yesterday. I figured I would heat them up in a moist papertowel and nibble at my desk. I grabbed the container and found....the little paper cup of ****tail sauce and...a wedge of lemon. Someone ATE MY LUNCH! Ok, think. I finished my protein shake supply for the week (how come no one ever steals that?)....I need.....(thinking) oh about 9grms of protein to keep me on track. Thinking. I have some cheddar cheese sticks (not low fat). They've been in there awhile, one of those will have to do. Grrrrrrr. I was so angry. I sat at my desk and without thinking went to town on that dang cheese stick...WAY TOOOO FAST. Next thing I know that familiar pain in the chest and the burping begins. (no not NOW).... Sure nuff...off to the restroom I run and give my 9grms of protein as a sacrifice to the porcelain gods. Now I have that familiar, I don't want to put anything in my mouth feeling - whi*****ludes liquids, but I'm trying to sip, at least I'll get my water in today. Dang coworkers!

OMGOSH! I would be so mad!!!!!!! I can NOT imagine reaching in and taking OBVIOUSLY someone else's food or drinks and eating them/drinking them myself. I mean SHEESH this isn't their home its where they work!! Guess its time to start treating them like 2 year olds and putting your name on your food with a Do Not Eat/Drink note on it lol be sure you use caps so they don't have trouble "reading" it lol. How about in the shape of a stop sign with a mean face on it. Sorry you had such a trying day. *huggles* Felicia =)

I am so sorry you are having one of those days. I totally know how that goes but mine is with my mother in law. We went away for the weekend and she stayed here (long story as to why) and we came home to NO FOOD! I had bought food that she would want to eat and do you think that she touched that....NO! She ate (ok now take in to count that this was like 24 hours worth of time) A bag of dorritos (did get those for her) 1/2 box of expensive whole grain whole wheat crackers that were a treat to my hubby to go with the expensive low sugar peanut butter that I got him. Well needless to say 1/2 of the jar of peanut butter that we had not even opened was gone. An entire box of sugar free fudge pops that at that time was really all I was able to have as a treat. All that was on top of the ham that I had cooked the day before so she would have food to eat. Not to mention she eats on our couch and does not see well and spills stuff litteraly all over the place. I was livid when I got home to find all this gone. Anyway so there is my vent! She drives me nuts....not to mention this is not the only time she has done something like this before. That is why I have a rule now that I will litterally stick by till the end of no mother in law in my house without me being there!!!! I know how you are with the water. I have to dilute cranberry juice and drink that. For some reason since surgery I can not do plain water. Not in any way shape or form. Something you might try is like the crystal light to go things. I have one that is not crystal light (do not like that any more either) that is green tea with lemon. It has splenda for a sweetener but is not overly sweet. I keep those in my purse as a just in case. I know where you are....take it easy and try and have a great rest of the day!!!! AND always we are here to vent to! Hugs, Melissa

Most of the crystal light to gos don't do much for me. The tea flavored ones give me indigestion for some reason. I do like the rasberry flavored, and keep some of them in my desk. I did the water/ cranberry juice at a wedding reception a few weeks ago, and just purchased some light cran/rasberry Ocean Spray to try mixing w/ water this weekend as well. For some reason, I still like the orange aide the best. I think it is sentimental as the first bottle was purchased lovingly and proudly by my boyfriend after he spent about an hour searching the aisles of the grocery store and even reading lables because I mentioned in passing that I had a craving for good old fashioned orange drink. I can't believe your mother in law would eat so much of your "special treats" knowing that they are part of a special diet. The only time I have had trouble being "out to eat" since surgery was when we had dinner at my future MILs house a week and a half ago. She knew about the surgery...she knew I don't eat more than a few bites....even know that I couldn't eat bread and such...but still...she made...spaghetti with red sauce and wine (no meat in the sauce). I smiled sweetly and pushed a few strands around on my plate before sliding my portion over to her son. I had a shake when we got home. Grrrrrrr. In-laws you can't live with em you can't shoot em.

I remember reading that and soooo relating. Thank goodness my mother in law does not cook. She did however expect for me to pay $50.00 to go out to eat on Christmas Eve with her. For hubby it was even questionable. There is no way that we can eat enough to even start to justify that one. We actually said no and low and behold she decided she would go with us to the place that we chose. LOL...too funny. I am learning to deal with her. It is a process though I guess. We are planning a move to CO very soon so I will be glad to be away form her but also sad for Fred at the same time. He is an only child and they are divorced so he is all she has but at the same time I am really going to be relieved to not have to worry about that any more. I just can not even imagine doing that so someone. My Mom would never even dream of it. I actually asked her not to come for my surgery as she would have stayed at the house with me gone and I was not about to have to come home from that and clean up after her. I love hubby becuase he stood up for me on that one. Made a good excuse. He is very close to his Mom but at the same time totally understands how she is. Anywho I felt so bad for you when she did that. Soudns all too familiar. But marriage is a very wonderful thing and I totally reccomend it to everyone! Hugs, Melissa

I love where I live. BUT when asked what's the one thing I would want for Christmas was, the only thing I could come up with is that I want to move lol. We are surrounded. His family on one side of town and mine on the other. I would give a small body part to be able to get away lololol... I guess I am the some what lucky one here where Mother In Law's are concerned... Mine passed away a couple years ago. Now if I could just figure out how to escape the rest of them (both sides) I would be set. *huggles* Felicia =)

I am sorry you had such a bad day! That is terrible that someone is stealing your food! Where I used to work some years ago there was a lunch thief. One of my coworkers brought in a couple of cupcakes made with laxatives. Well we found out who the thief was because she spent most of the next day in the bathroom! Elizabeth
