Pain Reliever Question

Ok, what do you all do for a simple headache? I had one yesterday and just suffered through. The liquid tylenol for adults and the new "Go Tabs" both make me gag - the taste of one and the texture of the other are too much for me. The Go Tabs actually make me I know, I know my doc. said 3 months until pills, but has anyone tried swallowing a gel cap or such yet? I don't want to go through another day like yesterday again.

I take all sizes of pills now. I do try and stay with gels or capsals but nothing really has caused me a problem. You just have to keep in mind you will probably feel the larger ones a bit in your lil tummy and that not to panic cuz they dissolve pretty fast so you just have to kind of hang in there. For me I found anything that WASN'T a gel or capsals was worthless and didn't work. Must be an absorption problem. But gels and chewables and liquid I did fine with. Now with that said lol I am a huge fan of the Tylenol Go Tabs so I am not much help there but if you can find a gel cap you should be fine. I cant get the liquid down to save my soul it was terrible. OH also lol I found out the hard way that there is a difference between Gel Caps and Gel Tabs to so read carefully for what type they are. As always I wouldn't do ANYTHING with out ok'ing it with your surgeon first. OK so I wasnt much help in finding a pain reliever. My understanding is that we are only allowed basically tylenol so lol its a matter of how you can get it in I guess. I take the Tylenol PM GelTabs once in a while and have no problem with them but I do find that they take much longer to work ( when and if they do ) than the Go Tabs. Good luck finding something that works for you!! *huggles* Felicia =0)

I am sorry that you suffered. We are only aloud tylenol from my understanding. With that said I do fine with pills. At my one month checkup he asked me to start taking calcium and I have no problem with even those. I have been taking the tylenol caplets (not the gel caps) and I have had no problems. As always check with your Dr. but I have had no problems at all. Hope that helps and I hope today is better than yesterday! Hugs, Melissa

I use the tylenol liquid. I think I got some bogus cherry flavor. I find I can "shoot" it right ndown my throat and not have to taste it much. I tried the go tabs. I don't really care for the texture or the cost. If I feel really bad, I still have some of my liquid pain medication. I think all of that stuff tates nasty. Aime

We are only allowed tylenol. i asked b/c i was a big advil/aleve user and they said no just tylenol. The others can cause ulsers i believe. I wanted to start taking vitamins etc in pill form (not taking them now b/c they make me too nauseous) and they said i would have to wait until 3 months. 10/10 is my date. So for now i'm doing without. Not a good thing i'm sure but the thought and feeling of gagging and being nauseous every single morning without the benefit of giving birth just isn't flying with me. Hopefully, i'll do okay until 3 months and then swallow away.
