Product Review:GNC Liquid Protein...

Simply Put... YUCK lol Its not as bad as some things I have had before but still I wouldn't want to swallow this stuff straight. I chugged 1 tablespoon and had to wash my tongue lol. I mixed the other 2 tablespoons in 8 ounce of Raspberry Crystal Light and then I couldn't taste it lol so it went down fine. So my 2 cents... if you are looking for a mixer type protein I say go for it. If you are looking for a take on its own... welp personally I would by pass this one lol. Oh and I got the Punch Flavor. I am going to spend the money on the orange flavor since someone here said it was much better then the punch. At least this one wont go to waste cuz I will just mix it in to what I am drinking. Also I am sitting here typing praying that I wont dump. This stuff has a LOT of sugar. 5 grams per 3 tablespoons. Its made with Crystalline Fructose ( leave it to me to read this AFTER I swallow it). So at least its not to bad of a sweetener but WOW was it super sweet. It has the consistency of syrup. If you were on hydrocodine (sp?) when you came home from the hospital its basically like that. Or if you have tried the Profect Vials this is basically along that line of thickness and sweetness. Lastly is the cost. $29.99 regular or $23.99 Gold Card Member ( plus shipping if you have to order it ). Each bottle only has 10 servings. So 3 tablespoons is going to cost you a $2.99 or $2.39 a serving. OUCH! But again if you can't get your protein in, in shakes or RTD bottles then this could be the solution no matter how much it costs. Will I buy again? hmmmmmm Not sure. Probably since I can use it to change almost any "red" flavored crystal light into a protein drink. But to be honest I would probably just by Profect Citrus Berry instead. For $2.99 I get 25 grams of protein. Sure its a bit bigger but its only 2.9oz so its not like you are sucking down an 8 ounce shake. (Still need to try the new whey. Its cheaper) Will let you know how the orange flavor goes. Oh and remember lol this is MY 2 cents on what I thought it was like. Every one is different so I say if you are still "looking" for that protein fix give it a whirl. Like we haven't wasted money on stupider stuff lmaooo *huggles* Felicia

You are just too funny. I am going to try the different ones that you send me. I am very happry and lucky to report that I do not dump so my new way of getting protein down is in a smoothie. I jsut put frozen berries with some cranberry juice and a banana and stick it in there. It tastes fine and gets it in. This might me a good thing to stick in one of the shakes. Will maybe try. I found out last night that I don't think I dump on sweets either ( I don't dump on fats at all ) Of course I still could dump if I had huge quantities but with out thinking last night I was watching Joshua open his count down bag of goodies ( he gets 24 of them as he counts down to Christmas) and he sad here mom have one and I took it and ate it and then PANICKED! It was a sweet tart thingie lol. I sat back and waited for the punishment lol but it never came. I don't want to try it again though lol. I never was much of a sweet eater so I was fine with not being able to eat sweets. Ok off on my own little story there lmaooo but the smoothies sound great!!! I am a boring protein shake drinker lol. I like it plain, no ice and down the hatch. I will have to check your tracking number... you should be getting that box here pretty soon. NO worries. My Dad used to work for UPS so I know how long it can take. No biggie at all. I have been checking and it is set to arrive today. So I amthinking that with all the holiday traffic of packages and such if not today then Monday. It will get here when it gets here. Dale works all day long shipping in and out with UPS lol. So much so we know most of the UPS guys roflmaoooo I like using them though cuz of the tracking and the guarantee ( automatic insurance) they offer. I have a ton of stuff that gets shipped this time a year. Its always early or late roflmao But I am like you, have great patients. I always think no matter how long it gets here at least I didn't have to battle holiday traffic to get it lolol. OH to funny. Speaking of here is my UPS guy now lol... Felicia, I couldn't take the taste straight either. I mixed the orange flavor with some sugar free tang and it was very good. One packet of the tang and 1 1/2 cups of the liquid protein and it makes 8-8oz servings. I take them to work and put in my fridge and have throughout the day -generally one a day to supplement my other food protein. Good luck, Lester

Hello!!! Thanks for the tip about the orange! I am still going to get it also with the knowledge that I will probably be mixing it. I keep meaning to buy Tang when I go to the super market and always forget ( currently working my way though 20 cases of crystal light bottles lol). I bet it would taste the same in the sunshine flavor of crystal light. I will give it a whirl! Thanks again! Felicia =)

Hi Felicia - I like the New Whey Punch flavor. It wasn't syrup-y, more like Kool-Aid. You can still tell that it is protein, but it isn't like the shakes, its a slight difference. Right now, I use Universal Pure Whey Stack in Tropical Sunrise. I mix 3/4 scoop with Sunrise Orange Crystal Light. I think it tastes like Orange Kool aid. I sip it On my way to work and through my morning meeting, so I get the protein and the liquid ounces. The only thing that reminds me of protein is the smell and I drink it out of a travel coffee cup with the lid to take care of that. Also, have you tried any of the Nectar products? I like the Fuzzy Navel with Sunrice Orange Crystal Light. I also only do half the serving. If you haven't tried it, Vitalady sells samples, but I would recommed only using half of the serving. Vitalady also sells the New Whey per vial. Mandy
