Feeling Blue
Does anyone else feel sad sometimes? Sometimes I just cry for no reason. I often wonder if it is because my healing is taking so long, and I am not back to work yet. Somtimes I just feel so useless. I can't wait until I can get back into the everyday life of being busy. My surgery was October 23 and I still hurt if I do alot during the day. However on the better side I have lost 61 pounds so that is a good thing. Well just wanted to drop a few lines and get some feedback about the blueness.

I am so sorry that you are having such a rough recovery. Have you talked to your surgeon about still feeling pain? Did you have open vs. LAP? Your surgery was before mine and I have been back to work for several weeks now. I can say that when I was home and not working I did do a lot of crying. It was very hard to be at home and not be able to so anything. But WOW!!! 61 lbs is AWESOME!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!
I have heard many people talk about depression after surgery but I have not experienced it. We have had a rough year this year as it is so this seemed like nothing though. I lost my brother on Oct. 1 this year so that is what I have really been concentrating on. I wish you the best and hope that you get to feeling better very soon. I would check with your DR. if you have not about the pain. Cheer up and know that you are on an awesome journey to a GREAT LIFE!!!!!
Hugs,
Melissa
I feel it sometimes. I think maybe, while I am thrilled with the new life that's ahead, there's still some sort of mourning process for the old me...if that makes sense. Such huge changes. So much to say goodbye to...
Plus, all the changes our bodies are going through have got to have some crazy effects on our moods at times.
We'll get through it.
And congrats on the weight loss!!

Yup! Some days I will go along just fine and then I will sit down to do something and the blue'est feeling will come over me. I try and figure out whats got me blue but usually cant its just a feeling. I had the same thing happen after I had my son. Everything would be going great but then a moment of blue'ness would come over me like life just sucked or something lol. I haven't had to many of those moments lately but man the first 5 or 6 weeks they really hit often. I think its just part of the processes. Especially for us that had it rough the first month-i**** seems it it was smooth right out of the start people are just bouncing right back but if it was rough its taking a lot longer to kick the blues.
Hang in there and try this. Every day that I was not seeing the "bright side" I tried to find one thing that was better then yesterday. Worked for me.

Hi Gwenda,
We had our surgery on the same day! Congrats on losing 61 pounds!!! That's awsome!!
I know it's really hard when you hurt all the time. I'm so sorry to hear that's a problem for you! I only started back to work last week, myself and wasn't able to work a full day. Even then I went home exhausted every night.
Make sure you get your protein in every day. That will help a great deal. Take your time and don't over-do!! If the sadness becomes too much, don't hesitate to ask your Dr. about it. I've had depression for over a year now and my anti-depressent is my life saver.
If you ever want to chat or just compare notes since we have the same Re-birthday, give me a shout. I'd love to hear from you!!
Cheryl
Thanks to everyone for your responses. I know that better days are coming. It just seems like everytime I take two steps forward, I get 3 back. I now have in respitory infection and have been laid up for about 3 days again, However my pain from the surgery is better. Again thanks for all your kind words.
