I ate broccoli today!
Why the excitement? Broccoli is my favorite vegetable and I was very disappointed to learn that many post ops can't tolerate it well. Well today at lunch I took the leap and ate two steamed florets. I had no problems! I am so happy that I can still enjoy my beloved broccoli and lose weight!
I always try to look for the simple things in life to celebrate

LOL I felt the same way yesterday when I had Brussels Sprouts ( yes I like Brussels Sprouts) lol. I just made sure I added some Beano to it just in case *wink*. I have been eating broccoli for about a week with no trouble either. I was very happy to be able to eat veggies like this as I just LOVE veggies.
Enjoy!!

Hiya Liz.
I'm doing great. I am down 37lbs since surgery, total of 47lbs. I am feeling great and doing well. I have yet to get sick (knock on wood) however I have dumped once with milk that had too much sugar (I wasn't paying attention). Other than that, feeling great.
How are you doing? Feels like a while since we've chatted. Hard to believe we are over 2 months out now
Molly
Congratulations on the weight loss! I am down 47 too from a combination of the pre-op diet and surgery. It seems the milk that I tolerate best is Carb Countdown. I have tried Lactaid and Dairy Ease and I don't dump on them but my pouch still doesn't like them too much. I am becoming a gym rat and am getting 5 - 6 hours of exercise in every week. 3 months ago it would have been maybe only getting 1 - 1.5 hours a week. At some point I will have to have someone take pictures of me so I can see how far I have come.

That is great. It seems to settle really well with me also. I am not a lover of it at all but now it seems soooo yummy. YAY!!! I am going to have to try the brussel sprouts as well. I onl.y used to like them roasted though so we will have to see. I make them before I go to work so I can take the rest to work as hubby will not touch them at all. I love broccoli now though. I get the frozen florets and just take a few out. Steam them soft then throw them in a pan with a touch of olive oil spray and some carlic and a bit of salt and yumo!!!!!
YAY for the simple things!!!
