What does your daily intake look like?
protein would be the egg white, the slice of beef and the leg and thigh of a small chicken.
my nutritionist said i need not take protein drinks. the only one she recommends is out of stock in south africa. the other protein shakes here are EAS and USN, which is bodybuilding products. i dont like experimenting on things she did not recommend which may affect my tummy.
supredyn is an effervescent (water soluble) vitamin tablet.
sandoz calcium contains 2400mg of calcium and it is also effervescent (water soluble).
i am not allowed tablets.
i just had a small piece of chicken fillet and gravy with some hot chips. keeping some for later.
also bought a rooti (soft taco?) with curried chicken for tomorrow.
bet i will be throwing both meals away tomorrow though!
i was taught to eat everything on my plate, not to throw food away, etc. it was a big mental hurdle to get over.
That is awesome about tha****er soluble vitamins. Must make taking them MUCH easier!!
Ok that taco sounds YUMMY!! You call them rooti? Is that for just that type of taco or all soft tacos? Going to tell hubby I want him to pick up some rooti's for dinner *grin* and watch him stare at me like I lost my mind lololol.
Yup was taught the eat everything on your plate thing also. Terrible thing just terrible. I have made HUGE efforts in NOT teaching that habit to my son. Some times I wonder if I wasnt made to do that how much that would have changed my eating habits.
I would love to eat enough "food" to not have to do the shakes but ack I would have to eat all day long. I am supposed to get 90 grams in a day. I am not even getting half that in "food" products.
*huggles*
Felicia =)
Well, my days are pretty consistent even though the food varies slightly.
I usually get around 475-500 calories, 45-50g of Protein, 30g of carbs, and 18-20g of Fat (mostly "good fat").
While I get ready for work 7 - 8, I drink 10oz of water
Every morning I have my protein shake (15 oz)
I drink 8 oz of water between 9:30-10.
Around 10:30 I eat a protein snack - Usually an egg white or 5-8 nuts.
I drink 10-12 oz of water between 11 and 12:30.
**On Saturday, I go to the gym around 12-1. I add half a protein shake on the drive home.
Between 1 and 2 I go to lunch which is usually a slice of deli meat, avocado, and half a slice of hot pepper cheese on a flat bread cracker OR avocado egg salad (Diced hard boiled egg, 1/4 avocado smashed, cilantro, tomato, teaspoon of fat free soy "mayo" all mixed together) with a slice of turkey bacon on flatbread cracker
I drink 12 oz of crystal light with lots of ice between 2/2:15ish -3:15
Around 3:45 I eat some snack - usually a piece of light string cheese, half a protein bar, or cucumbers with a tablespoon of hummus.
I drink 10-12 oz of crystal light from 4:15 - 5
**On Tuesday and Thursday I go to the gym 5:30-6:30 and add 1/2 a protein shake on the way home.
Between 6 and 7 I eat dinner which is usually some sort of marinated chicken, a vegetable, and or a carb (usually a potato).
I sip a cup of water or crystal light through the rest of the night and if I get hungry, I usually eat a deli slice, 1/4 or a protein bar, or 1/2 a piece of light string cheese.
Its not much variety, but I love the food I eat so I don't really miss anything or crave anything (aside from the occasional impulse for something), and it keeps my intake values pretty consistent. I have started to add a few more foods to my meals to get my caloric intake up to at least 600 cals.
I'm glad we're discussing this. It's good to see where others at my approx. "stage" are with the eating.
Yesterday was probably THE BEST day I've had so far as far as following nut. guidelines. I usually don't come anywhere near getting in all the recommended protein or calories.
Breakfast: left over roast beef and gravy (my stomach is flaky in the morning - it def. can not handle typical "breakfast" foods...sometimes any food is a no go for the first few hours).
Snack: I hate HATE HATE shakes and bars...I need to take them like "medicine" so today - I broke 1/2 an atkins bar into small pieces and managed to get them in.
Lunch: Left over grilled chicken w/ dipping sauce from the day before.
Dinner: (company party...it was several hours long - I spaced out my eating accordingly). 1 shrimp w/****tail sauce. 1 tiny TINY piece of chicken skewer. 2 oz of slice beef w/ au ju.
Dessert: 6 oz hot decaf tea w/ splenda
Note: this morning has been a disaster already - I tried a few bites of the beef from some canned stew this morning and immediately knew it was a no food morning. Now it is 10 and I should be trying the protein bar - my stomach is still saying "please...no."
Beverages: as much bottled water and sugar free orange drink as I could get down - around 40 oz. (not as much as I'm supposed to - but the best I could do).
