Protein Guide????
What do you use to calculate your protein intake? I think I need to find a book or something to tell me how much protein is in things. If it isn't right on the label, I don't know how much it is. I also want to browse something to get ideas on good things to eat. I want to mix it up a little. Hee Hee.
Thanks, Aime. I got a sheet from my nut before my surgery, but it only has about 12-15 things on it. Basic thinks that you know have protein in them, like beef, chicken, cottage cheese, milk...I am wondering if there are things other than meats and dairy that have protein that I could be enjoying.
Thanks,
I keep a food diary on fitday.com
You can keep track of your intake of protein, carbs, fat etc....as well as excercise etc. It allows you to browse the food choices so that it is easy to find exactly what it is you have eaten. I can tell at a glance (it provides graphs) exactly how I am doing for the day.
I use fitday. I purchased the software for my computer but they have a free version of it at http://fitday.com I would be lost with out it lol.
*hugs*
Felicia =)
I have this great little book that I bought a couple years back, when I was diagnosed with diabetes. "The Doctor's Pocket Calorie, Fat, & Carb Counter." While it does focus mainly on these, it also has a protein counter section. It lists all sorts of foods. The website they list is calorieking.com.
