What is your current workout?
Ok so I am starting today. 5 mins on the treadmill twice a day!! Already got my morning 5 mins done. OK OK so I know its not like I am busting a sweat here but I haven't hardly done anything for 2 months lol. I figured better to start slow and work my way up then kill myself off and quit the first day.

Sorry to be the good/bad one here. I walk on the treadmill 2 times a day for 25 minutes each, it equals a 1.5 miles each time. I started slow when I first got home and started feeling up to it and now look where I am. Somedays are harder to do the mornings then the evening ones. I looked at the gazelle thing but not sure if I would like doing it or not so that is why I invested my $$ in the treadmill, for now.
Slowly and working your way up each day and in no time you will get there.
Hugs~~

Never be sorry for working out and doing something great for yourself. I had all the great intentions in the world for starting right when I got home to but I was so sick for the 1st month it just never happened. Hubby loves the Gazelle but I like the treadmill. I hope to get a new one next spring ( it will be my 100lbs loss since surgery present I hope ) lol I find I can do more on the tread mill then the Gazelle. Its fun to trade off though ( or so hubby says lol ) I also have a Recumbant Bike and a full weights all in one home gym. Now if I just had a room to put them all in *grin*. I figure I have all winter to work up to a good work out a day so that once spring gets there I will be in MUCH better shape and want to get out there a live!!

I had been trying to walk as much as I could, but, with sciatica, that wasn't always much. My last incision has finally stopped leaking and is scarring over, so I returned to the gym today and got in the pool
I do something called deep water walking. Basically, using a flotation belt around my waist to hold me upright, I walk across the length of the pool without treading the bottom. It's great exercise, engages my heart, legs, arms, without putting pressure on my lower back or knees or feet. I aimed to go back and forth across the (Olympic sized) pool 3 times today, but managed 4 instead. Then used some underwater dumbells to work my upper arms further.
Then...sat in the whirlpool for awhile...mmm...

WOW congrats on the extra lap!!! That is just wonderful!! I would love to do water aerobics but there is just no way I can get down to the pool. I cant wait till spring though when we can get in our own pool!! I will actually be getting IN IT this year YIPPIE!!
Keep up the great work!
*hugs*

Thanks, Felicia. I belong to a wonderful gym. It's been there nearly 30 years, a neighborhood place, reasonably priced, with pools and all the equipment, etc., anyone could want. And, best of all, the clientele are all ages, shapes, and sizes! I've been comfortable there from the start. It's the way all gyms should be.

I have been doing long walks and hikes about 6 days a week. Total about 1.5 miles. I take my dog, as he needs exercise too, so it works out and I don't feel like I am going alone. I just have lots of energy now. I will step it up even more as soon as I get enough money to join the gym. I want to include weights as well.
