Oh yes only real butter. I tried "fats" out right from the start lol. I knew I could live without sugar sweets but not with out fats lol. Of course its all in moderation. For example I only used 1 tablespoon ( I actually buy them at Costco already in pats so I wont over use it) for 2 good size pieces of Tilapia along with some Olive oil (I use the one step up from the Extra Virgin cuz it adds more flavor) to bring up the temp of the butter so it doesn't burn. Was enough to add great flavor with out a ton of "fat". Besides most of it drains off when you take the fish out of the pan anyways. Only thing I use Pam for is to cook pancakes for the guys on the weekends lol. I figure with at little as I get to eat I am going to eat good. Wont do Low Fat cheese either. UGG whats the point, I would rather just go with out the cheese lol. But then that is just me. Now if I dumped on fats I would of course have to change that but I think its all in moderation. Trial and Error lol its my new motto when it comes to foods *grin*. *hugs* Felicia =)

I'm sitting on the edge between pureed and solids. I begin full solids on Wednesday, so some of my foods have been a cross over. Current favs: egg beaters w/ ff cheese the insides of a turkey and cheese lean pocket chopped in a chopper split pea and ham soup I also made a fantastic soup that was a low fat cheese and pepper soup then mixed in a small container of Buschs chili. I had about 2 1/2 cup servings of that. YUM. But, it was a bit spicy - I gave the rest to the boyfriend - he is loving it.

Cream of asparagus soup? YUM..I had some asparagus yesterday right out of the can. I could tell you what I eat, but it changes daily. One day I can eat a burger and the next day forget it! and that feeling in your chest!! Awful, and it comes in waves..you are right, sometimes when you just can throw up that one extra bite, does it feel oh so much better. I have only done that about 5 or 6 times. The rest of the time, probably another 15 times, I just suffer until it passes. I actually ate a sugar free peppermint patty and it was really good. I just cant eat much of anything. Soup is my only consistent thing. Lentil, hearty tomato from PRogresso, really good. I love your ideas, everyone, thanks for sharing. I havent done oatmeal that much, as my NUT said to go real easy on carbs..can you all have cereal? Something I used to love, but I have not tried yet. I was kind of scared about the chewing and the milk. I do love my cottage cheese. Sometimes I dont eat until noon, i use the morning to drink drink drink..decaf coffee, water with a splash of juice, crystal light..etc...I do want to try the Starbucks, I have a gift card but have not been there yet!!

I, too, ate shrimp as soon as i could eat solid "real" foods. Could only eat one. Now i can eat two. Medium sized. I can also eat chili. Water sometimes hurts me too which is a major bummer since i used to drink a ton of it and now it is so hard to get in. I hate the protein drinks so i pretty much just eat protein to try and get in what i need without the supplements. I add a little veggie and no starch. Maybe i'll lick a spoon with the rice on it. My weakness obviously and i know i don't have room and eat the protein. I swear he made my pouch smaller than everyone elses.

You are going to think this is crazy, but it tasted so yummy! I microwaved a veggie burger from morning star. Next I poured some creamy cucumber salad dressing on top and topped it with diced tomatoes and feta cheese! It was at least 20 grms of protein! I had no trouble getting it down. I am 4 weeks out.

Actually the veggie burger sounds pretty good, I love feta chees and tomatoes..I made a 15 bean soup with leftover honey baked ham bone, added 1 sweet onion, garlic one can of diced tomatoes and juice of one lemon..that soup was wonderful, talk about healthy and good protein, I ate it yesterday for breakfast and lunch! I am not a big bean eater, but when you are not eating a lot of other food, it was really good. I like soup not only because it goes down easier than dry food, but I am gettting liquids in addition to food! I tried some grouper this week, and it came right back up..also the tilapia..they both were good going down but did not stay down..ugh!! I never know from day to day what my pouch will accept..we are in relationship counseling at the moment (HA HA LOL>>Just kidding!!)

You all have such great ideas. I love the idea of the 15 bean soup. I saved the ham bone from Thanksgiving to do that but have not gotten around to it yet. Maybe I will do that today and then we will have yumo soup for the weekend. I love to cook and am getting good at soups. Thanks for the great idea! I was doing great on foods till I got a stomache bug a week or two ago and now I seem to be having to force myself to eat. Litterally I can not stand the idea of eating. Drinking is fine. Especially since my whole kidney stone ordeal I am doing cranberry juice diluted a little and that goes over great. I do not dump so I am lucky that way because I can not stand the diet cranbery juice. The flavor is yuck to my pouch. The only things that my pouch has not really liked were tuna (fine one day but not the next) and eggs. Both are rough on the pouch. I still have never thrown anything up though so knock on wood that will continue. I am working my way back up to eating again. I feel like I am back in the beginning. I did great this last weekend though in NYC. We went to a buffet at our favorite rest. (The View) ( if you ever have the chance to go it is awesome) and maybe it was that there was such a variety nothing I ate upset me. I had a bite of shrimp...come to think of it even a little tuna...some braised pork...and a piece or two of penne with sauce. It was all fantastic. I was clearedd by the doc on the 22nd to eat whatever I wanted. He said to let me pouch be the guide. He even said salad but i know from my hubby that that is a little rough this early out. I am a month out and can not wait to at least get a little bit of an appetite back. Something that I loved to eat before was dark meat chicken. I took the bonless skinnless thoughs and put it is a 8x8 pan and covered it with a mixture of undiluted cream of mushroom with garlic soup and cream of chicken soup thinned a little with chicken broth. Baked it in the oven till it was done and hubby loved it and it went down very nicely. I have been fortunate though that chicken seems to be my friend. Hubby can just now really stand it. Lentil soup is my other favorite.l I get the Amy's organic and it has no potatoes in it and it is yumo! That is when I do not make it at home. If I make it at home I add some corriander and it is fantastic (thanks Mom for the recipe). I love the relationship counseling part. That is where I feel I am at now too
