Actually, I'm going to Cape May in a couple weeks, for a couple days, and I'd love to try some shrimp or scallops. I guess I'll bring some breakfast foods with me and some other stuff just in case, but I sure would like a few bites of seafood. How did you introduce shrimp back into your diet? Did it give you any problems? Have you (or has anyone here) tried any sugar free sweets - like sf chocolates or the like? How did that go down? Lisa

I found shrimp and scallops very easy to tolerate as long as they aren't fried. I had some that was in a chinese dish so they were very tender. They were actually one of the first foods I ate when I went to soft foods. I never really have pureed anything. I have eaten some of the sugar free candies. I was given several bags of them for my birthday which was 2 days before surgery. One or two was all I had at a time. I didn't want to eat the entire bag (lol).

Glad to hear that about the shrimp and scallops, Aime. And you did ok with the Chinese seasonings/sauces too? Lisa

I have a bag of already cooked and peeled shrimp in the freezer. I just popped a couple under cold running water till they were thawed. Cut them up in small bites so I wouldn't inhale it and added a dab of ****tail sauce and down it went. Never had a single problem with it since. I have cooked it a bunch of different ways and so far no problems. The already cooked and peeled are the best cuz you can just take out what you need for a meal or 2 and not worry about the rest going bad. Hubby picked up some tilapia at Costco yesterday so I plan on cooking it up and seeing how it goes. I am a seafood nut so I would have been pretty shocked if I had, had trouble with it lol. Especially after being able to handle beef. I haven't tried SF sweets but then I am not a huge candy eater. But I haven't had any problem with SF cool whip or SF puddings etc... So I doubt there would be much trouble with candy. Enjoy your trip to Cape May! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Yum, tilapia...I'll be interested to know how you do with that. I have that in mind as one of my first soft foods. And thanks, Cape May is beautiful. I haven't seen it done up for the holidays, but pictures look wonderful. And I love being on the beach in winter, especially at dusk and dawn Lisa

Hey, Yes Calzone innards are super right now. All it is is ricotta, mozerella and whatever toppings you want....I did meatball and my pouch was cool with that. A little cup of sauce to dunk and yum! High protein super taste! I did about 1/2 cup and took about 10-15 minutes to eat it....but my tummy has been EXCEPTIONALLY good to me. The only thing that has made me uncomfortable so far was immitation bacon bits in a scrambled egg (don't know if I mentioned that before!) Nothing has made me yet! (knock on wood!) If you like Italian foods try baked chix breast w/ a little pasta sauce and sliced string cheese in your chopper or food processer. Dont fully puree but get it to chicken salad consistancy and microwave till cheese melts. Tastes like chicken parmesan!!! I too have had no probs w/ sf jello, pudding, or whipped cream. I LOVE doing diet hot cocoa with the sf whipped cream. Like dessert...only WLS friendly! I tried 1 shrimp coctail on thanksgiving. No sauce. My pouch was happy with it! But shhhhhhhh don't tell, I'm not supposed to do shrimp, crab, scallops, beef, or pork yet...soon my next follow up is on Dec 4th!

LOL, I had 1 piece of shrimp on Thanksgiving too. It satisfied my intense shrimp craving, but I wasn't supposed to have it either.

Ok finished dinner and had the Tilapia. It was WONDERFUL!!! Went down just fine. Was moist and flaky and so good!! I sauteed it in a pan with a bit of butter and olive oil, then drizzled lemon over the top of it and a dash of salt and Mrs. Dash for flavor. YUM! I am no where near a Cape of any kind lol but I would love to be. Sounds beautiful! *hugs* Felicia

Glad to hear the tilapia went down well, Felicia. And you do ok with butter too? I've been using butter-flavored Pam, and the taste is ok, but I hate using it because it's nothing but chemicals... Lisa
