It was a great success here. I ate turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and gravy. I had cool whip and pistachio pudding for dessert. It was YUMMY! And best of all I didn't go away feeling like an over stuffed whale lol. ( Shhhh don't tell cuz I did it a couple days early but I am even a pound down this morning lololol ) It was so funny to watch everyone eat this year. Last year it was like a food free for all. It was like ok we could talk but only if it didn't interrupt or get in the way of eating as much as we could stuff in. This year it just seemed like every one ate slower lol. Not like they were doing it on purpose because of me but because they seemed to WANT to eat slower. It was a wonderful meal. You could actually hear the talk OVER the sound of the food for once lol. Funny how I am the one that had the surgery but in a good way it seems to be effecting the ones around me. Guess it was hard to sit there and stuff when one couldn't lol and I think every one enjoyed the slow down. I don't remember hearing a single "OMG I am so stuffed" lol. Was nice. So how did your Turkey Day go? *BIG HUGS* Felicia =)

I had a grear day! Thanksgiving fell 1 day shy of my 4 week mark...thats TODAY!!! My group doesn't allow carbs, fruit or veggies in this stage so all I was able to have was turkey and gravy...I cheated for a couple bites of broccoli and cheese sauce( I informed my surgeon that I planned to do that at my 2 week follow up!) When it came time for dessert I had a mug of diet hot cocoa spiked with a packett of french vanilla splenda blend. Yummy. Later in the day I had more turkey and gravy and for my evening planned snack.....ricotta creme yummy! I too noticed that conversation was better, and the food was not the focus....Hooray for new traditions!

My "turkey day" was great!! My whole family went to Cracker Barrel to eat and I had the child's thanksgiving meal. But I brought about 3/4 of it home as leftovers. I had a few bites of the turkey breast, five green beans, a 1/2 teaspoon of dressing, then I was STUFFED!!! It felt so good to have control of my eating this year. (I am five weeks out from my surgery). Kathy
