Hello, I have a few questions.. I am 5 1/2 weeks post op. I got up this morning feeling wonderful. Got some house work done and decided to eat some NSA Peach apple sauce. I am ok with Reg apple sauce. I only took like 4 bites. Felt kinda sick to my tummy so I stopped. then 20 min later. I got sooooooo dizzy!! So dizzy it made me start gagging.. I layed down for about an hour and I can now barley pick my head up off the pillow. I can hardly type my hands are shaking so bad.. How long does this last. It is my sons 15th BDay today.. I have company coming at 3.. Is it what I just ate this morning or could it of been what I ate yesterday? Anything I can do to make the dizziness go away? I havent thrown up, just gag and gag.. Any advise would sure help!! OMGo****his is Horrbile.. Thanks! Love, Tiff

Oh my, it certainly does sound horrible. I can't share any dumping experiences, as have not done so myself. I have read really varied experiences, from being sick for 20 minutes to being sick all day. I would guess it is in response to what you just ate today, especially since it is a new food for you. However, I would also guess that it has more to do with the stress you are experiencing around your son's b-day and guests coming. Do you have another adult with you that can take charge? You may just need to be an attendee today, or you may even need to spend the day lying down. I would suggest you take about 20 minutes and try some relaxation techniques...deep breathing, focusing on your breath, clearing your mind, etc. It may be that the stress of company coming is the biggest issue. Good luck!

Hope everything worked itself out by party time!! Also... Different fruits have different levels of sugar content. Peaches are one of the higher natural sugar fruits. Could be why you had trouble with the Peach one but not with the apple. I haven't dumped "yet" so I don't have any advice for a fast remedy there sorry. *hugs* Felicia =)

the first time i dumped i thought i was dying! it was so cold but i was sitting outside in the gale force winds to cool/calm down. then tried inducing vomiting, which did not work. after an hour i felt better. it happened once or twice afterwards again. i find that i need to get outside into the fresh air, and be alone. normally after 30-60 minutes i feel better. i have to point out i only followed the liquid/pureed diet for 1 day before i had enough of running to the loo and have kinda learned by trial and error. one learns from ones mistakes :D

I hope it passed for you. I had my surgery on 10/10 and just last wednesday i too woke up feeling fine. But by the time i had to leave for work i was so dizzy i thought i might faint. I was afraid i'd fall and crack my head while alone in the house. I stayed home from work and did nothing but sit and try to force fluids. It couldn't have been anything i ate b/c i hadn't eaten anything yet that day. I did take a synthroid pill, after being off of them for the surgery although it was the 3rd one not the first. I felt better that evening and then for two days i only took 1/2 pill. I am now back up to my normal dose. Could it have been a new medication you introduced/?

Yes it passed that same day. I was fine by the late afternoon. I think it was because I didnt have anything in my tummy and then I put sugar in it.. Something I never want to go through again.. Good thing my 15 year old was home to help me. I havent been taking any new meds and the ones I do take I take at night. So I dont think that would be it.. I know for sure, no peach apple sauce for me!! Even though it said No sugar added it still had 11 grams. I think that is too much. Too much for me any way. Thanks for helping! Tiff
