The scale stole my thanksgiving!

Thanks to everyone that posted last night. Everyone was very supportive in response to my fears that I would get on the scale today and find I had not lost anymore weight. My fears were realized. 5 weeks out and the scale has not moved from the 20 pound loss recorded at the 2 week post op appointment. In 3 weeks, I have not lost anything. I know my close are fitting differently. I am technically down a pant size and I had to shorten my watch band. In order for me to make the 2 month goal loss of 54 pounds, I have to lose 34 pounds in 3 weeks. How do I make that happen? I am so exhausted that my exercise has been sporatic. I have not even been able to get fully back to work yet. I am meeting all my protein, vitamin, and water goals pretty consistently. I am at a loss. I am not sure what to do. I want to be thankful for this tool but so far I have been miserable for 5 weeks and have not even met the first month 27 pound loss goal. If this were just a diet, I would quit. But I can't undo the surgical alteration of my body. I don't know what I want to hear or if there is anything to say in reply to my post. Guess I just needed to whine.

I had my WLS same day as you....Now if my scales are right...It shows I lost 10 pounds!!!!! I was stalled since my first checkup on the 30th of October!!! Make sure you are getting in all your protein and water and walking!!!! That is what I have been doing and finally it is starting to move off me again!!!! Monday is my next checkup and I will know for sure if I lost 10 pounds!!! Hang in there it is just the body playing catchup to what has happened to it!!! We are all going through this right now!!! You aren't alone!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!! Hugs Judy

I'm sorry that your feeling so discouraged. I know this is stupid but what are you eating and are you getting enough water and protiens in? In three weeks I've only lost 3 lbs. Maybe its just a stall and you will find that in a couple of weeks you will start losing again. I hope mine doesn't totally stop also. I wish this surgery was an instant cure LOL but its going to be a life time of ups and downs. Lisa

it is time to face reality and realise that you will not be losing the 34 pounds in three weeks. you are putting undue pressure on yourself. i too was in a stall, and decided to cut out the egg yolk, and little bits of carbs, and is happy to report that i have lost a further 4 pounds this week. what i can suggest is to get less focused on the scale. if you are doing what you supposed to be doing, and not loosing, then your body is not ready. just leave it then treat it like a guy. it will do, when it wants to do it re-adjust your target weight for the two weeks to loose an extra 5 pounds instead of the 34. that is more realistic. not doing it is just putting yourself up to fail, then you will be angry and disappointed with yourself, which will undermine your self confidence. need i go on? like dr phil would say 'be your own best friend'

I think that our bodies need to readjust seriously after the first few weeks. I thought I would have had a bigger loss initially as well. I also am still having problems with being tired. It has improved since I got my B12 shot. I can say that my sister gave me a bag full of clothing yesterday. One item was a pair of flannel pajamas which I grabbed as I have been so cold lately. I looked at the size and decided that the top might fit. I am wearing the top and the bottoms. They are an Extra Large. I was wearing 24's 6 weeks ago. Losing the inches does make a big difference. Be kind to yourself. You will lose. (And we all need to drink more water! )

Congrats on the changes you are seeing. I guess I need to give my body time and just keep on keep'n on.
