Happy Thanksgiving and thankful for my new tool!!
Hi Everyone! My family has a tradition of going to a restaurant to eat thanksgiving dinner and then on to see a movie in the afternoon. We went to Cracker Barrel today at noon and I ordered a child's traditional thanksgiving meal. I ate about three small bites of the turkey, one bite of the dressing and five green beans and I was STUFFED!! I brought the rest home (which didn't even look like I had touched it) and will eat the rest at other meals. I just love this life and how well I am feeling after only a 33 days from my surgery!! I have lost 35 lbs so far and it just seems so easy!! I just wish I could have eaten so lightly BEFORE the surgery! LOL!! Even looking at sweets does not bother me know. I can't even explain it, but I love it!! I hope everyone had a great day!!
I was stuffed after eating the leg of a cornish hen. I also had a mixture of root veges (parsnips, yam, squash) with a fruit compote and some asparagus. I was so full and I had to throw away some of my dinner.
I took a taste of pumpkin pie. It was all I needed. I too do not crave any sweets at all.
I am 6 weeks post now and feeling great.

I am obnly 3 weeks out and was terrified at what it would be like to be around all the yummy food. It did not bother me at all to my suprise. I have not been well for a few days and not able to really eat anything and had to go back to just liquids so I was worried about even trying the turkey but I found I didnot even miss it. I was cleared Wed AM by the surgeon to eat whatever I thought I could tolerate from now on and it was exciting. I just ate a very very very tiny amount of potatoes with gravy and some mushed stuffing with gravy and that was very satisfying. My cousins wonderful wife made soup just for me and it was sooo yummy. I got a lot of liquid down then as that has been a huge issue for me. I struggle every day withgetting my liquids down. Just like everyone else I really thought I would struggle but I am so glad that I did not. I too am very very very thankful for this new tool. YAY!!!!!
I am so glad that everyone else had as easy of Thanksgiving as I did. Now we know that we can conquer Christmas, too!! This surgery has been like a miracle to me and I wish that everyone that was such skeptics before I had my surgery could know that for me it has been a godsend!! I know that I am just one of the lucky ones and have not had complications so far..... but know that I am praying for everyone that is having a hard time right now and pray that things will get better for them.
