Hey ya'll, just wanted to let you know that today is my 7 week anniversary..I remember so well being in the hospital and the whole ride since. I have as of today lost 40 pounds..I feel pretty darn good, still have to really work at getting in all liquid, vitamins and protein. It is still day to day as to what goes down well. I have gotten sick probably less than 10 times and it was my fault everytime, I either ate the wrong thing, ate too fast or did not chew well enough. I will say that consistently soup is my best food. It is nourishing and liquid and soft..I eat all kinds of soup, especially veggie kind. Just wanted to share with my board that I am happy with my weight loss and my surgery and I dont regret it at all! I so love we have this board to go to and share our information and our ups and downs..when I have been down, you all have so been there for me, THANK YOU!!! hugs to all... and Happy Thanksgiving Kimberlee

Hi Kimberlee, Tomorrow I will be a full 7 weeks out too. I have more energy now and can do a lot more physically. I have become very lactose intolerant and can't handle any milk. I can still eat lowfat yogurt though. Tuna and tofu are my friends! Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I had to laugh when I saw tuna and tofu are my friends, that is what I say about applesauce when nothing else will go down. I have yet to try tofu what does it taste like and how do you eat it, or prepare it? Thanks Heather

Since my surgery I have got some very strange tastes. I haven't made tofu myself, I usually get it prepared from a chinese restaurant as kung-pao tofu or plain with sesame ginger sauce. I also like it in the form of burgers, breakfast sausage, and italian sausages. I like the Morningstar Farms and Boca brands best. Tofu really doesn't have a flavor by itself, but it takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with. Elizabeth

thank you Felicia..and yeah, elizabeth, how do you fix your tofu? I feel like soup is my friend. I haven't eaten much dairy, so I am not sure if I am lactose intolerant, but it just doesnt appeal to me. I have eaten cheese a little though.

Thanks Felicia! How are you doing? I may buy my new sneakers early because Apple is having a sale on the Nike + Ipod Sport kit. I started running a bit on the treadmill and I think this would be a fun incentive for me. I will try not to use it until I get to my mini goal of being under 200 lbs. Elizabeth

Are you buying the Lactaid milk. I was lactose intolerant prior to surgery so I have been buying Lactaid. It has helped me. I was never a big milk drinker. As long as it is mixed in something I tolerate it well. Soup is my saving grace.

Hi Aime, I can drink Lactaid, Dairyease, and for some reason Carb Countdown. The carb countdown goes down the easiest. I tried a storebrand lactose free milk and threw up in my car. I guess I need to stick to the well known brands. Elizabeth
