Is this weird?

I am 7 weeks out today, lost 40 pounds. However, my pants are loose, but I can still wear the same pants I did pre-op. Now, I can wear a few smaller pants I have (fitted into 1 18, and some 22's, and my old 24's). I would think I would at least be down a size or two in a solid way, not just how the clothes are made. I know I am smaller, everything is loose, but nothing is falling off yet..is that weird? or is it just me or what? Did anyone else experience this? The other posts I am seeing people say they are down 2 sizes..please advise!!

Congrats on your weight loss. I too am at 7 weeks today and down 40lbs. I can fit into smaller pants but my 18's still fit some. The legs and butt are very saggy but that's about it. Susan

That gives me an idea for a new name for us: The Saggy Butt club! We are losing so much weight that our drawers are always drooping! I think I am losing mostly in the top including my face. Elizabeth

My guess is it depends on where you start to lose it first. I carry 90% of my weight around my belly, butt and thighs. I have lost a TON of inches but am still managing to keep up the pants I have worn all along. Then of course there is always that ( every brand is a different size ) thing lol. And lets not forget what happens to them once we wash them lol they all end up different sizes. There could be lots of reasons *shrug* but think of it this way. They may not fall off to day but they WILL be falling off one day soon! Why worry about it till its something to worry about. You lost 40lbs... I mean what feels better the that!! *hugs* Felicia

I am like you and the others. I have lost 43 lbs since surgery and my clothes are not falling off they are very loose and comfy. I have also lost a ton of inches but am still in more or less the same sizes that I started with but more comfortable fitting than before. I am sure in time these will fall off and we will all wonder what we were thinking of and why it was a weird thinking process but it seems we are all about the same with the clothes issue. Hugs~ Deanne

thanks for the responses..I know, you are right, we will probably wonder what we were thinking..but it is a process, and I am learning everyday. I love to hear what others are experiencing, just to know I am "normal", if that is possible..LOL..

I have attributed this phemomena to the fact that my hips won't change shape. they are the only part of me holding up my pants. My ummm panties tried to fall off the other day. I think we all wonder the same things. Luckily we have this forum to bounce our thoughts around for answers. Aime
