Just wanted to say hello. My surgery was 10-3-06. I am cleared for reg foods still kind of sticking to softer options. Started at 346 and am now at 310. My surgeon told me i am right on track so even though I wi**** were more if he is happy I am happy. what are you all able to eat at this point?

Howdee doo! I had surgery a day before you. Great job on your weight loss. Looks like you are trucking along!! I can eat just about anything. It needs to be soft and moist though if possible but whew no more of that pureed junk. ACK hated it. Lived on refried beans and mashed potatoes for a month... So far the only thing I struggled with for a while was water. Didnt sit on the tummy well. But seem to be over that. And tuna. Went down and came right back up lol. Other then that nothing else has caused me problems. I pretty much live on Wendy's Chili right now lol but also eat shrimp, steak, hamburger, beets, grits, cheese of any kind, cottage cheese, green beans, peaches, honeydo mellon, hmmmm what else.... well really anything.. Always protein first of course and my portions are super small. Like today I was only able to have 3 shrimp with a touch of ****tail sauce before being stuffed (so far the best part of the surgery lol the instant full side effect lol). I hear you about wishing for more loss. My surgeon said the same thing at my one month check up but that doesn't make it any better when you are hoping to drop 100lbs in 30 days *grin*. Felicia =)

Wow you both are doing just great. It is encouraging to see that you two are eating pretty normal. I am almost a month behind both of you (Oct 30th). It is nice to look forward to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am soooo jelous...steak....wow what I would not give for something like that now. At least chicken sits well with me at this point. Best of luck to you both, Melissa

I have a strange system lol. I was nauseous all the time when I was eating pureed but as soon as I started on solids I improved hand over fist. I am such a texture person I think my system just didn't like the mushy stuff lol. I spent the first month thinking I was dying and realllllllllly ticked off at what I had done to myself lol. Once I started on "solid" food it was such a change, and I felt so much better I was instantly much happier with my decision. I asked my surgeon about being able to eat the red meats etc with no trouble and he said that each person is different but looks like I was a lucky one *grin*. I am glad nothing is bothering me as I just wanted the quantity control part of the deal lol not the "nothing will stay down" part lol. I will say that chicken breast and tuna though are 2 of the things I have the most trouble with. They stay down but sit like rocks. Pork has been ok though and dark meat chicken. Hang in there. You will be sampling that steak before you know it! *hugs* Felicia
