Ok I know stalls are normal etc but guess I just need some reassurance... Here is how my losing has been going... Sept 19 - Started Liquid diet. 378 Oct 2nd - Surgery Day. 359 (-19) Oct 16th - Weigh In 343 (down another -16) Oct 23rd - Weigh In 337 ( down another -6) Ok and here is where it starts to slow down.... Oct 30th - Weigh In 334 ( only down -3) Nov 6th - Weigh In 332 ( only down -2) Nov 11th - Weigh In 331 ( only down -1) And as of this morning still at 331 =( I get between 90 and 110 grams of protein in during the day and between 48 and 72 ounces of fluids in a day. I admit that I am not working out as much as I should be I have just hit a week finally that I am not sick when I stand up. So I am only up to about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile a day using Walk Away The Pounds. Mind you I am sure not complaining for the the awesome loss I have had so far but... Please just tell me this is the normal "stall" that always comes after that much weight loss and that before I know it I will be back to losing again... (Ok so its not an official stall till the at least 2 weigh ins in a row but lol I have a lot to lose so I am panic'ing) Thanks for reading. Felicia

I've been reading a ton (I'm actually addicted to this website) and everyone says your body has to catch up with the huge amounts of weight we are losing and the stalls may last 1-3 weeks so hang in there...I lost and initial 20 lbs within 2 weeks after surgery and then went back to -17, -18 for a week...now I'm down 22 lbs....I think it's very normal and we just have to try not to over stress about it...it sounds like you're getting everything in and so we just have to accept this to happen every so often...hang in there!! Thanks so much for replying!! I know that I am dropping inches cuz my clothes lol are hanging terribly but ugg you know how it is. For some reason my brain doesnt see that as a success until the scale says its ok *sigh*. After posting that I went out side and walked for 15 mins lol feel at least emotionally better so hopefully it will help get the scale moving again. Its just the old fears creeping up on me. "Will I fail at yet ANOTHER diet" type thoughts. *HUGS* Felicia =)

I know what you are going through... except I am at 3 weeks I haven't lost a pound since 11 / 3! I know that it is disappointing / frustrating / annoying, but I guess that it has to do with the fact that we have all DRASTRICALLY changed the way we eat. I was talking to my friend who hasn't had the WLS, but is getting a PhD in evolutionary biology, and he said something that made a lot of sense - he said that the plateau is the body's primitative response to the change. He said that it happens becasue the body is in famine mode and wants to hold on to what it has to prevent starvation - it doesn't know that we aren't hungry, or that we are not SUPPOSED to eat. So the stall is just an adjustment period and as the body becomes used to the new feeding and conditions, it begins to "calm down" so to speak and let go of the fat. That made me feel a little better, and I hope that it helps you.

Thank you so much for replying! Yes it did make me feel better. My calm rational part of my brain is saying "DUH you knew this was coming" but my irrational want it done now part is saying " WHAT IF THIS IS IT!" lol Guess I will start listing to the calm part *grin*. Thanks! Felicia =)

MAN you can say that again lol. Funny how logic doesn't make us feel as good and the scale numbers moving though lol. Just cuz we know it doesn't me we have to like it right! LOL Its not so bad till you see people saying "Im 2 months out and FIFTY pounds down!" and I think OMG how in the world did you DO that!! Felicia =)

I have an unscientific theory that says the bigger you are the higher the intial weight loss. I loss 38 pounds from 2 week prior surgery to now. How much of that was water weight? My system perhaps getting rid of bunches of toxins? I DUNNO, but I have a theory! I understand the crazies with the scale, I am only going to weigh in at my surgeons office. They say you should stick to one scale as that may vary and further screw with your head. ...Just one fat broads opinion.

I hear you about the scale. My surgeons office scale has me 3 pounds lighter thats why I go by the one at home... Cant be driving 8 hours just to weigh in *grin*. I am usually really good about only weighing once a week but this past week has been a bit addictive since I am scared to stall out. Thanks for the reply! Felicia =)

I was hoping for more than 26 lbs at my one month. I lost 21 lbs in 3 weeks. I too know I am losing inches. My clothes just sag on me. I also assume that because of exercise some of the fat is turning to muscle. I just wish I had more energy so that i would want to get ot and walk more. Aime
