I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and I'm still feeling tired in the afternoons. Has anyone been feeling the same? Yesterday was pretty bad cause I actually ended up taking a nap. Cusi

I had my surgery on the same day and some days I get really tired in teh afternoon too...come to think of it...the last few days I've felt exhausted in the afternoon and felt like I could nap...I think it's just our bodies still healing.

My husband had his surgery in June and he had probably a good month before he really got strong energy back. It is not only the surgery but your body adjusting to such a lesser amount of food. The surgeon said it might be 2-3 months before we see that tiredness go away. Hope that helps...NAP NAP NAP! Melissa

I am 21 days out and I still feel tired in the afternoons. I was reading on Ketosis and it can be a result of that. Make sure you take your b-complex. That should help too.

Hi, I had my surgery on 10/23 and I'm still getting tired during the afternoon too, so don't feel bad. My Dr. told me this was perfectly normal, so I'm taking him at his word.

Hi Cusi! Don't worry about being tired in the afternoons right now. I had that for about a month after my surgery....and still do some days. It's been almost 6 weeks and I finally feel like my energy is coming back. Just make sure not to overdo and rest when you need it. If you are really worried, check with your surgeon. Susan

I also had that feeling, just recently had my 1 month post op visit with the surgeon and was prescribed Iron supplement. It might also be iron deficiency that you are feeling which causes anemia. I was already slightly anemic pre op and now it might be worse so since I've been on the supplements, I've been feeling better during the day.

I had surgery on 10/31 and I am still tired. Just this am, I awoke at 7:00, took dog for a 3 mile walk and then did laundry, fixed beaskfast for kids etc.. I was napping from 11am until 11:20. I just take a little kip of a nap to keep me going.

By the time I get home from work, I am ready to go to bed for the remainder of the day. I am one month post (10/12/06). I hope when I see my surgeon on Weds he will be able to offer some energy suggestions. I think I need some REAL coffee. I fight to stay away every day in the evenings. Looks like this is very normal from what I read. Aime

Hello everyone, this is my first post in a very, very long time. I've been a member for a while, and I just had my surgery 10/26/06. All praise is due to God, that I've been feeling pretty o.k. thus far. Today I went out shoppiing with my wife and she dragged me down every isle and every nook and cranny of the supermarket, so you can imagine how I was feeling after all of that . Well, sorry for dragging on but I guess I will say that I was as tired as a dog when I got home. i haven't been able to get my fluids in so this could be a great cause to the tiredness (getting dehydrated). Thanks for listening !! MISTER B.
