It is a week after my surgery and I am doing well. Went to my primary doctor today and she was very pease that in a weel I have lost 12 pounds. (was at her office a few days before the surgery) I wanted to know if anyone has an idea on how to get all the protien needed in a day. I was told that I have to have 75 grams. **Joanie**

I had lap bypass as well on 10/16. My doctor requires 90 grams of protein a day. I drank two 1 cup servings of the PRO COMPLEX protein mix a day. Everytwo scoops gives you 55 grams of protein. When mixed with one cup of 1% milk you get a total of 63 grams of protein. I drink one cup in the morning (takes 2 hours of sipping) and one later in the evening. You can get it at Vitamin World and GNC.

I am with you. I have no idea how I am going to get protein in. I am jsut 4 days out but even the thought of anything other than crystal light does not appeal to me. The beef broth in the hospital was fine but the one we have at home is so disgusting. Oh well. Tomorrow I am on to cream sou;ps and yogurt and sf pudding so we will see how that goes. I know from my husbands surgery to just not pu**** and eventually you will be able to get the protein in. My husband has to have 80-90 a day so it is hard for him but he does the isopure zero carb and it is 1 cup of water to two scoops and there are 50 grms of protein in that so that helps him get it all in. I know all the things you are supposed to do but at this point I can not see how I am going to. Best of luck to you and congrats on the weight loss. I hope to be there with you soon (my surgery was on 10/30). Keep us updated.

I too have to get in 90 gms of protein a day plus three (2 oz) meals. I have my first shake on my way to work and by 10:00 I'm getting hungry and eat something then at lunch time I have another shake at work. I wait until I get home for dinner and a shake before I go to bed. I can only handle Champions Chocolate protein shake. I am one month post op and it just now am able to get all three shakes in. Part of it was getting it down until I tried the chocolate flavor. I have lost 33 lbs so far most was lost my first week then I hit a stall and I have now started to lose weight again. Best of luck to you all. Susan
