My cycle has gone insane!

Hello everyone. I am 6 days post-op. Out of nowhere, the night before my surgery, my cycle comes on. And since then, it has gone haywire. My flow is out of control. Is this normal for women who have just had gastric bypass?

Yes, it is very common for your cycle to change post op. Mine came early and the day after my surgery. It sucked having my period feeling bloated on top of the pain I felt with gas and all in the hospital but it's one of those things. Your body is going through a huge horomonal change and this is part of it.

What kind of meds are you on? My flow came about 2 weeks postop and it was the worst one I've ever had in my entire life. I called the doctor and he said one of the meds I was taking (Plavix) would cause it to be really heavy and painful. So maybe that's why yours is crazy too. Oh, and mine lasted 10 days too! What fun!

OMG I am so with you. Mine came the day after surgery and what a pain in the but. Not only do we feel yucky enough after surgery (I actually felt pretty good) but then on top of that you have the bloated and cramps from that. Plus in the hospital all they would give was pads and I HATE those. To me it is too much of a mess. Not sure if you experience the same thing but bending over to have to take care of something liek that was so not on my schedule. Mine was not sue until the 2nd week in Nov. so it came very early. The nut the week before did say to all the woman that is most likely will. The hormones and all that. So now I am still waiting for it to end. I am usually a 4 day cycle person but who knows from what I am hearing. My poor hubby has to deal with my recovery and mood swings. Poor hubby. But back to is it normal yes it is. Both nut at the surgeons office and the nurses at the hospital said it happens all the time. Best of luck and I am only 6 days behind you so hears to us both being on the loosing end!!!!!
