ANYONE ELSE CRAVING REAL FOOD YET??
I too hated Optisure. After the taste test that my Nutritionist held, I went for Unjury Powder. It comes in Unflavored, as well as, Vanilla, Chocolate, and a Strawberry Sorbet that I hated. I am adding the unflavored powder to pudding, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. The only thing you don't want to do is get it above 130 degrees. It causes some problems that I havent' been willing to test. Try www.unjury.com. They ship the same day as your order.
Best of luck,
Jason
Jason-
I ordered a couple samples of Unjury...Kept wanting to say UNSURE...HEHE. Thanks much for the suggestions everyone. Hadn't thought of the carnation one. I've been better yesterday and today about taking my protein drinks. I just plug my nose and I try to drink them in 4 or 5 gulps. (not all at once....over about 15-25 minutes). I still get to where I think it's going to come back out. It comes back up in my throat....but I haven't puked it yet. The thing is, gram for gram, you just can't beat the 12 grams of protein in 4 ounces of a beverage. Jason- can you do the unjury in salty things too? I know you said cottage cheese, but sometimes people like sweetened cottage cheese. Can I put it in some of my pureed meals?
Joan
Joan,
I put the unflavored Unjury in everything...But I think its better if you put it in warm things over cold things...It seems to me there is an after taste in cold but I do not find that there is an aftertaste if I put it in something warm like soup...I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow and still on full liquids...
I am using Body Fortress Whey Protein Powder for most of my protein at this point...23g of protein per 8 oz serving...Chocolate flavor and it is yummy....You can get it a Wal Mart for $11.00...
I also use a hand mixer(one for making shakes) and put a couple ice cubes in it to make it more like a real shake...plus it helps to get the protein powder mixed well...
This protein powder is the best I have tasted...My daughter and sister have also had RNY so they have been a great help for me finding a protein powder that actually tastes good...
Good Luck

COOL! That's so reassuring. I can't wait till it comes!! My parents bought me one of those "magic bullet" machines as my "get well soon" gift. I love it! It'll be wonderful in mixing stuff. And I know with my protein powders in the past (from a previous failed diet attempt) I had to blend the protein powder.
Thanks for the input.
