postponed
A few days ago, when told, I was steaming, but not so much any more. My surgery has been moved from 10/26 to 10/31.
This has been the longest and most anxiety-ridden thing I have ever done voluntarily. At this point, I won't believe I am there until I am on the operating table. Or maybe not until I wake up and am told it has been done.
I just completed the sleep study and am getting a CPAP tomorrow. It's very sexy. Especially the pieces that stick in my nostrils.
Hope everyone here has been well.

Lisa,
hang in there, your day will be here before you know it. My day is the 27th. I understand how you feel, I won't believe it either until I'm in the recovery room. Good luck with everything.

Hi Lisa,
I defintely understand. The same happened to me. During my liquid protein diet, they moved my surgery from the 24th( I could be there now!) to the 30th. I was frustrated because I wasnt prepared for that to happen. It seems like so much has happened since I started this journey. But as everyone has told me...it happened for a reason. So thats how I look at it now.
-Love the "pieces that stick in my nose" line..LOL
Ever feel like doing this to someone when they make changes to your plans?
Shannon
Hi Shannon,
That's it, the plans...I have it all mapped out on a spreadsheet - on this day, I do A, on that day, I do B...and whenever I look at it, I am in the headspace for it. Now, I had to re-adjust! But...I have. I hope you have too. It may well have happened for a reason.
Actually...this is how I have felt...through the hoops and over the hurdles...
Lisa
hi lisa,
you are the lisa that i was in nutrition class with i think... and then we did our pre-op testing together??? i am patricia... i think in class you had said that you had a sleep study scheduled but would not postpone your surgery. let me know if this is you or not. i love it when i can put a name with a face.
listen, i know how you feel, (check out my profile from 10-17 to 10-21.) but listen, it is more important to get the health issues taken care of, and you are not on too long of a delay. keep in touch, i would love to hear from you.
best regards, and i will keep you in my prayers,
patricia
Hi Patricia,
Yes, I'm who you think I am. It wasn't the sleep study that postponed me. My surgeon is going out of town this week.
The sleep study was interesting. I did a big rant about it on another board. I spoke with the pulmonologist today, however, and they did get me a CPAP. He got my attention to the point that I will follow his instructions and see what happens. He said that the first night, I stopped breathing 102 times per hour and my blood oxygen dropped to 66%. The 2nd night, with the machine, it went to 10.8 times per hour and blood ox stayed in the 90s, with relatively low pressure.
Wish I'd known you were there on the 20th. I stopped by after my pre-op appt to see Michelle and would have seen you too. You must be the laproscopic patient she said was bounding around the floor looking so healthy!
How are you feeling now?
Lisa
