surgery tomorrow and cold symptoms today

Hi everyone, Well my surgery is for tomorrow, Monday. but my question is does anyone know on why they would cancel it for being sick? I am not real sick but I am having cold symptoms, sneezing and my nose is running, head congestion, no fever but basically cold symptoms. I so don't want it to be cancelled but I am curious on what guidelines they use for being 100% healthy going into surgery. Any suggestions or advice?? I am getting extra rest as much as possible but I am not eating much ( the pre op diet) but I am really pushing liquids, mainly water and crystal light. Thanks, Marcy

Hopefully its just sinus. Have you tried any tylenol sinus? My surgeon says the only thing I can take pre-op is tylenol products so I thought I'd offer my suggestion. I hope you get to feeling better. Shelly

Marcy, were we together without my knowing it last week. The day after my final consultation (surgery is Thursday), I come down with what I think is a cold. Runny nose, sneezing, fever for a few hours, and congestions. I have been popping Tylenol Cold all weekend and feel MUCH better, but still have some congestion and the runny nose / sneezing. I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow morning and pray that it doesn't cause a delay. I am praying for you and hope to hear that everything goes well and on time.
