I JUST HAD THE LAPBAND
Hello everyone. I am Keshaun and I just had the lapband surgery in Houston, TX....Dr. Robert Marvin was my surgeon. My surgery date was Thursday, October 12 and I underwent the knife around 7:30am as I was told. I was nervous. All that I remember was the anesthesiologist asking me about the different things that come through the Social Work Department. I work at the hospital where the surgery was performed. Anyway, I remember beginning to tell her function of a Social Worker in the hospital and next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room. Today is Sunday, October 15th and I am okay. My mid section is still a little sore but nothing compared to childbirth. I wanted to know from some of you........I am craving a little bit of food like crazy. Can I even eat some mashed potatoes with a little gravy? So far I have only had juice from different soups that my husband has purchased from the store. I am craving the need to chew something. Is there anything at all that I can do? Look forward to your responses. - Keshaun -
Keshaun,
I also had my RNY on the 12th. I am still on a liquid diet. I can't have anything solid till Thursday. I have to eat an egg before my first doctor's appointment. If that goes well, then I can have soft proteins. I am not sure how things go with the lap band. I wish I add more answers for you. I can tell you that I understand how you feel. I am not really craving anything, just remember so much how things taste. I can't wait to have something to chew too! I hope you find the answers you are looking for. Good luck to you, and hang in there!

I to had my lap band the 12th and wa sonly suppose to be in the hospital 24 hours but ended up 2 and a half days was so nauseated and wasnt passing gas i to crave something awful like i sucked teh salt off a pringle when my son was eating it but was told absolutely no solids i am however now after 5 days of clear liquids on the second part of just plain liquids cream soups, yogurt, etc. 2 more weeks till anything with substance otherwise id ont get any real solid foods for 4 weeks. I had to go in yesterday for an icky pain in my chest which seems to be an air bubble caught up somewhere. The cravings will get better.
