no prep req. w/ my surgeon
my surgeon doesn't require any prep at all except for the standard npo after midnight the night before surgery. does anyone else have the same "no prep"? i keep reading here about everyone beginning liquid fasting. just wondering. i can't wait til the 18th!!! best wishes to all of my fellow october losers.

Patricia,
Seems to be vastly different my surgeon. My Aunt had WLS at Morristown Hospital and she had the same thing......no prep just NPO after midnight the night before surgery. I can't say the same for me....I'm scheduled for 10/30 and have to start liquids on 10/22. Oh well, I figure it's a small price to pay for the ride I will enjoying in the coming months!!!
Best Wishes,
Mike
I'm supposed to have "soft" foods the week before surgery (like baked fish, etc...things easy to digest...avoiding beef and such) and then clear liquids for 24 hours before surgery and nothing after midnignht of course. No bowel prep required. Everyone's surgeon is different.
Good luck with your surgery!!
Angela
Patricia,
I am scheduled for the 30th and my doc does not really have a prep either. I have to take fleet phosphosoda as a bowel prep the day before and of course the npo after midnight but that is all. I have heard a lot of people talk about the liquid diets and such but my husband had the surgery in June and he had no prep either. I guess it just must depend on the surgeon. Best wishes and prayers are coming your way!!!
