Shannon i wish you the best of luck, just remember you are doing this for yourself and the results will be fantastic, and you will feel better about yourself. I am just beginning...I went to the seminar 2 months ago, and tomorrow, oct,10th I am going in to talk to my doctor. how long didi it take from the first visit to now for you? I have been told that sometimes it takes 6 months.

I went to the seminar in June and saw the dr in July...then had to go through the steps like nutritionist and psychologist. Then some extra tests. so from when I first saw the surgeon till now its been a little over 2 months. It would have been quicker, but they messed up on my steps a little. Paprework should have been sent to insurance sept 1st..and it didnt happen till the end of sept. I was approved right away without waiting because I have medicare. Although it has seemed like a long process..I guess it wasnt really that long for me. Every Surgeon and hospital is different with how long things take. Hope it doesnt take 6 months for you. Let meknow how it goes. Shannon

Good luck!! I also had a pre-op diet and to tell you the truth it was a little tough. I still had to cook for my husband and two boys. It was easier at work. But husband and kids were real good about not eating lots of stuff in front of me. After a couple of days I started losing weight and I ended up losing 12 pounds before surgery (surgery was 10/4). Since surgery I lost 6 pounds for a total of 18 pounds. I also believe the pre-op diet really helped me with the "eating" after surgery. I was already used to having liquids so to continue on them for another couple of weeks doesn't seem that hard. Except now I have to force myself to get the liquids in. One thing I loved on the pre-op diet was SF popsicles. They were a life saver! Good luck and you'll be on the loser side in no time! - Jeannette

I start my liquid diet on Wednesday the 11th, but I only have to do it a week for surgery on the 18th and I thought a week was bad lol! Good luck to you! I guess every doctor is different time frame beforehand that you have to be on a liquid diet. I know what you mean about having to cook for the family, I have 5 kids and a husband, it they still need to eat real food! Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing! Marcy
