Oct 2 - pshyc eval missing

My surgeon's office informed me on Sept 13 that the pshyc eval was not received in their office. I had the appt for that back in May. So I called my pshyc and left a msg asking her to fax it over again. She returned my call and left me a msg stating she has no record of me ever having the eval performed!!! This is less than 1 week before my surgery!!!!! I thought everything was in order. Please pray for me. My pshyc hasn't returned my call after I left her a msg asking for a quick appt. These dr's book months in advance. Now her mail box is full, I can't get thru to her. I called the surgeon's office back and asked for their reccomended pshyc. That pshyc will take me today at 3:00. But its' $275 out of my pocket vs $30. Also I'll have to take time off from work. I'd be pushing it there since they already are dealing with me going out on disability in oct. I know I'm venting. Please understand.

Did you sign anything when you went in for your original appointment? Did you go thru insurance the first time for payment? Can you go down in person instead of calling? Felicia

I'm bummed. Pshyc hasn't done much else for me but to schedule me for Sept 29, fri. That's the Friday before my surgery. She hasn't returned my phone call I made to her today asking her to write a letter to the surgeon stating I am a good candidate for the surgery. I don't want to move my surgery date. I've mentally prepared for this date. The pshyc says I never had my eval. Yet I recall the whole deal. she has the dates of my appts but one appt I had made was to do the eval. Also the surgeons office said they will change their protocol. They can't wait til the person comes into the pre-op class(2weeks before surgery- all scheduled) and tell the person their pshyc eval hasn't been received. It's near to impossible to get an appt with a pshyc in short notice. Thanks responding... I'm outta my mind right now. I've got to make some sense of this.

Oh, forgot to mention.....I've been a patient of this pshyc for over 2 years. She should know me by now anyway. This sucks.

Evelyn, Did your insurance get billed for the day of service? If so, I would provide that proof to the office and to show you had the appt. Susan

How did you pay for it that day? Check / credit card ? There would be proof that is SO fustrating

Pshyc has agreed to see me on Sept 25. 1 week from surgery. At least it's not the day before. Thanks everyone for their support. It really helped keep me sane.
