What does your liquid diet consist of? Mine is 4 protein shakes a day. I have to try and stay around 760 calories and 80 grams of protein... its pretty sad when the calcium chews are looking like lunch ROFLMAOO Best of luck to you!! Felicia

Felicia I can have h2o, crystal lite, broth, buillion cubes, sugar-free kool-aid, sugar-free jello, sugar-free popscicles, protein 30 grams, 1/2%. 1% milk or soy carnation instant breakfat drink, diet snapple, diet v-8 splash, v-8. I think that is about it my lovely menu. also I forgot unsweetened or artificially sweetened coffee or tea. I brought general foods international coffee it was decaffinated and sugar-free. charlene

I put an email into my NUT to see what I can add. I am currently drinking Crystal Light also. All the list shows is the protein drinks but if its just liquids I am hoping they will at least let me add in jello lol. Felicia

I am on day 3 of my liquid diet. I was having problems with very large ketones (the pad on the stick was black!) and feeling very lethargic like I was in diabetic ketoacidosis. I am a type 1 diabetic so that was very dangerous state for me to be. Both my dietician and surgeon agreed that I need more carbs in my diet. So along with 3 - 4 protein shakes, I am allowed 1 cup of creamed soup and 10 oz of V8 juice per day. I never thought I would come to love V8! Elizabeth

I think I can have V-8 also.. will have to look through my paper work. One sheet says yes and one says no lol. I hate it but if I can have it I am going to learn to love it *grin*. I am so tired. I just want to sleep. Felicia

Do you have any Ketostix? There not just used for diabetics. People who are on low carb diets like Atkins or Protein Power use them too. You can get them over the counter at any pharmacy. You dip them in your urine to see if you are spilling ketones, which are a product of fat and some muscle breaking down. I personally am trying to stay in the pink or light purple zone. Based fatigue, thirst and headaches, I can tell when I am in the dark purple to black zone. Elizabeth

I wish these boards were like the main one. I totally missed this reply. Sorry!! I used to use them all the time when I was doing Atkins or Low Carb but haven't used them in a while now. I don't have much flexibility in what I am allowed to eat so no matter what the stick said I would be pretty much held to the liquid diet *sigh*. *hugs* felicia

I'm on my second day on the liquid diet. I'm drinking 2 to 3 protein drinks and boullion and cystal light. I only did 1 protein drink yesturday and I felt so tired. I still want food especially when people at work eat right next to me. They don't know I'm having surgery or else they'd probable move some where else to eat. Oh well 12 more days to go......
